I agree about not gettin the bootleg versions of Kings/Queens fo Freestyle... but What about all those Freestyle Video Collections poppin up on ebay lately? Some are VCD and some are DVD-R... and contain almost all the Freestyle videos made... I dont see them available commercially anywhere... So woudl it be wrong to buy those? The artists would get paid if the Co put them out but they havent.. What do ya think?

To be honest I don't think anyone really got paid for that DVD set (artists I mean)...well with the exception of maybe one or 2 artists (hmmmm guess who?). I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD itself was ripped off and not credited to the proper ppl. Thats just how corrupt things are now a days.

Its a dog eat dog world.....

that is much different. most of those videos sold on EBAY are videos that were once shown on MTV and CLUBS. Artists werent meant to make money off videos. Videos were just another way of getting thier music out to the masses. The only way videos could make money were if they were sold in "compilations" or an entire video that is done solely for the artist (TIMMY T, SAMANTHA FOX, DEBBIE GIBSON). That's why "original" videos are so hard to come by. after the facility was done with thier videos, they would discard them. there was no need because they were outdated. plus, they took up alot of space.

so, if someone had the time way back in 1990 to record all the videos from MTV or spends thier money buying up single videos to create a mass collection for resale, they money goes into that person's pocket, not the artists.

Do you guys really think that an artist gets paid everytime thier video is shown on MTV?

NOPE.

It's different from RADIO. Much different.
