Tarp: the best thing for you to do is explain those details to the judge on your court day.... most likely 98% of the time he will throw it out and you will be cleared of all charges! or if you haven't set a court date yet, when you go to request a trial, tell those details to the court clerk and sometimes they can throw it out as well. But don't worry, if that REALLY is the case then it will get thrown out lol unless you're lying! one more thing that is good to do, speak to the cop that gave you the ticket on your court day, he might even throw it out for you!
 
You know what though the chances of a cop showing up for the court date of a traffic ticket is so unlikey...it's only happened to me once lol 😛

Yeah there are speed traps all over the city, go to speedtrap.org and you will see a listing lol. The one on the onramp from Adelaide St to Eastern Avenue is a really tricky one. The signs say "DVP" and have an arrow pointing to the ramp, so I thought I was exiting to the DVP. I sped up accordingly. Before I knew it, the cop nailed me. I'm getting radar in my grille, Virginia and Ontario law be damned. They won't catch me next time.

Anyway thanks everybody for the info.. I already requested a court date, and if it's in the summer then that's good. If its unlikely that the cop would show up, then even better.

In Fairfax County, VA where I live the court date is given to you automatically on the ticket, and it's usually within 2 months. They're a lot more flexible here -- you can request a change to the date over the phone. But the cops show up almost ALL the time. One cop will have all his traffic stops from that month heard on the same date, so he'd better be there! Traffic cops here are probably about the same as in Toronto, my friends get pulled over for stupid shit like exhaust all the time. The points add up MUCH more quickly in Ontario though. At least you can get around with the TTC.

lol it's so funny that most people here in T.O have the impression that cops most of the time don't show up to court... WRONG! the only time a cop will not show up to court (traffic court) is if he/she is on vacation.. that's the only way.. i mean court is part of our job, if we go to court on our day off, we get paid double time and a half so believe me don't get your hopes up about the cop not showing up. As for criminal court the cop will ALWAYS show up. just thought i'd share that info with you guys
 
Here it is one year later , and it is sad to say that Toronto is still not ready for another "black-out". The supposed "emergency commitee" was given a FULL YEAR to come up with ways to counter-effect the eventuality of a black-out, and these people have come up empty handed. Im glad my tax contributions are going to people who just spin their "wheels" and do NOTHING!

The blackout was interesting to say the least. I had my friends come over and we sat on the front steps eating ice-cream sandwiches ALL night (well I didn't want them to melt in the freezer, that would've just been a mess lol!)
