lmao.. that's the best u can come up with after all the help u got? lol tsk tsk tsk

Ummmmm I think you're the one over exaggerating...always using that angel smiley *rollseyes*

lol... uh huh... that's just the truth 🙂

anyways u're changing the topic lmfao... u got help that's the final word.

PortuGino that is pretty damn cool. Toronto has the most streetlights of any city I've ever been to, which is great for driving around or walking at night, but the night skies suffer because of it. I would've crossed over to the Toronto Islands to catch a glimpse of the Toronto skyline with none of the skyscrapers lit up!

If we had a power outage of that magnitude here in D.C., it would be utter chaos. Traffic accidents everywhere.

Yeah that was so cool the stars it reminded me of Europe...and yeah the darkness was really kool actually but when I did get to driving around 3am it was kinda scary cuz you couldnt see the IDIOTS that were riding their bikes/rollerblading for some unknown reason :confused...but yeah looking back now that life is somewhat back to normal it was a really kool experience 🙂

ahh.. the wonderful feeling you get when you get power back after 12 hours of a house with no lights. thank god i had HOT AND COLD WATER the entire time (LOL too bad for you, chica). also i gotta admit the stars were great to look at, too bad it didn't happen 2 days ago when there was a meteor shower too. funny thing i noticed there were tons of stars out around 10pm, then around 1 am they were gone.
portu thats real good of you to direct traffic, i cant believe you stood out there for so long. but what really got me was that the drivers actually listened to the random people directing traffic, i thought it was an unusual thing to do.
hey tarp u think toronto has lots of streetlights? u ever been to nyc?

Tran---I've been to NYC and in mid Manhattan there are WAY MORE street lights (esp Times Square) but as for the rest of the city Toronto has WAY MORE street lights and brighter too...The residential areas of NYC are WAY DARKER than Toronto's...but anyways awwwwwwwwwwwwwww look at Portugino practicing to be a cop, but seriously props cuz I don't think I could stand that heat and had the patience 🙂

ok then i guess i didnt go to nyc's residential areas yet, toronto does look pretty well lit at night when im in a plane above.

gornicevo hahaha :1luv

tran man.. lucky u only had the power off for 12 hrs... i had them off for 31hrs +/- 1hr. so yeah that sucked... although everyone is right, i have never seen the stars so bright... at times like these you remember and appreciate nature's gifts to us

Tran man/ civic_gina: lol i didn't stand there directing traffic for 7 hours because i felt like it lol! i work for the Toronto Police so i was getting paid to do it.. it was my job for that day actually, i was in uniform so i wasn't just your average joe blow directing trafic... lol don't think i'm crazy or anything! but the heat was too much, thank goodness for those awesome people that gave me water

omg a man in a uniform :drool HELLO!

i seem many "average joe's" directing traffic... I think it was amazing that they did that... some did an awesome job too.. and yeah it was totally awesome when people gave them water... kinda shows that at times like these toronto works as one, and it was just so good to see that

Oh you were getting paid...well then I take back my awwwwwwwww lol 😛

On the night of the blackout, I lay down on a lawn chair in my front courtyard and spent 3hrs looking up. It was the best thing I ever did. I saw Mars, the Milky Way, 5 or 6 shooting stars, and at least 3 satellites. (no UFOs though, damn :crap)

PortuGino you work for the Toronto Police? Do you know what happens when a Toronto cop writes a speeding ticket but puts the wrong date (three days too early) and the wrong time (PM instead of AM)? Do they throw the ticket out in court?

Yes I've been to NYC.. like all American cities the major streets are lit up.. but the residential streets and the back streets are usually very dark at night. In Toronto it doesn't matter where you are, whether you are downtown or way up in Richmond Hill, practically all the streets have streetlights. Even the QEW had streetlights basically 3/4 of the way to Buffalo. The beltway around D.C. carries as much traffic as the 401, but most of it isn't even lit up at night!

Here's a satellite image of Buffalo and Toronto at night: http://www.darksky.org/images/satelite/buff_tor_nit_sts60.jpg

Tarp speaking from personal experience you have to go to court and fight the ticket and bring up all those points in person at court you cannot do it any other way...yeah most buildings downtown have dimmed or turned off their lights tonight making the CN Tower stand out and look AMAZING I've never seen it looking like that...I may go out and take pix lol 😛

oh great.

They're gonna inform me of my court date by mail, chances are it will be in the winter. A cop told me they might throw it out without even giving me a court date because of the date discrepancy, but we'll see. There's no way I'll go up to Toronto in the freezing winter just to fight a ticket. Not only that but they told me the only way to change the court date is to appear in person and request a change. That's messed up! I'm not travelling 500 miles to request a change of my court date! So I'll probably end up paying the ridiculous $277 fine.

Everyone, beware of the speedtrap when exiting from Adelaide Street east to Eastern Avenue (getting onto the DVP).

LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOO there are speed traps ALL OVER THE CITY

Anyways nah it will probably be in the summer your court date is usually about 11 months after the incident...trust I know these things lol 😛
