It's scheduled to start btwn 6-6:30(according to the Ticketmaster website) but what time do they plan on ending it? They have a lot of acts scheduled, and if it's going to be a rush job like the Miracle on 34th Street fiasco in December, then I'd rather not waste my money.

We have done endless 'promo's' for KTU for years leading up to TKA Forever and they didn't come through when it was their time to repay us for all the free shows.
It's already late in the day for Forever as we wanted it to pop off.

So like they say, "If they pay, we play."

Other than that..NO TKA AT BEATSTOCK...

Sad sh*t is...Star and Buckwild has given freestyle more respect for what it is than the station that is supposed to cater to the music and artist of TKA's caliber....No respect recieved, none given.

Damn Shame !!!!

KTU pulls the same shit all the time. They always are the first ones to put the freestyle artists down for their shows and they get Vito Bruno to run it but they won't play our freestyle records in regular rotation on the radio. Time and time again the freestyle artists always respect the station and perform but KTU cuts them no slack. Hey K, I don't think that you, Tony & Angel should perform. They should be playing your new shit on a regular. I agree with TY

Tybless, you make yourself sound like an amatuer manager. Just because TKA does 2 free shows a year for KTU means KTU should add their new songs, even if they aren't that good ?

This is a crying shame. TKA and Tybless, do you really blame KTU or any other radio station out there for not playing your new material ?? Cmon, lets be mature about this. The new TKA cd was pretty lousy, and you know it. I'm the biggest TKA supporter, but even i didn't like the new cd. You're acting like tons of radio stations played your new song !! Don't blame KTU for not playing any of that new material, ESPECIALLY when your record label dropped you!

I'm pretty sure if TKA came out with some bangin new material, KTU would jump on it. Why blame KTU ?? NO other station played the new TKA, but I see them doing free shows in Orlando, Miami, Chicago, etc.

Owen (OS), when is the last time you were behind a successful project. Its been some time now. Don't get me wrong, you are very talented, but cmon, its been a while since you had success also.

What kills me is, people like TKA, OS, and others still around in freestyle HAVE THE TALENT. They've proved it in the past. But instead of working on new tracks to keep freestyle pumping, they waist their time, complaining that they aren't treated the same way they were 15 years ago. Well guess what, its been 10-15 yrs since you've had a hit. WAY TOO LONG ! MAKE SOME NEW, BANGIN MATERIAL and you'll get that respect again. You can't live on the success you had 10 yrs ago !

I'm pretty sure KTU's show will go on, and succeed whether TKA shows or not. TKA is only hurting themselves by not showing up. Once again, the big heads are getting in the way, not allowing the talent to take over. What a shame. Same shit happened 10 yrs ago when they broke up. Freestyle needs TKA. Believe me, it pays off. Think about it, how many shows does TKA get because of KTU still keeping TKA alive by playing their hits from the past and announcing their performances ??? ITS WORTH doing the few free shows a year !!!

If it wasn't for KTU i would've NEVER EVER have heard of TKA or Freestyle in general. it was them playing your music, and other freestyle artists alike, that got me (who is only 18, not around during the "peak" of freestyle) into the genre of music. Now i love it. Thankfully KTU does pstill play freestyle... although it may not be your newest stuff, KTU does play your stuff and it makes people interested to hear more, leading to the purchase of albums both new and old. KTU is playing the freestyle, and it's introducing a whole new age group into the genre. So please, I understand completely where you guys are coming from, but dont act so childish.

As for the length of the Beatstock concert... I went last year and it was about 4 hours long. They do not have a big break in between each artist if i recall correctly. Since just about all the artists performing dont have a backup band or anything to really set up, they basically keep it flowing. Last years was great, and I'm looking forward to this years very much so.
 
first for freestyletruth i dont think forever is the greatest tka album, however they could have atleast supported one single!!!! not even specifically focusing on tka but freestyle in general is NOT GIVEN THE RESPECT IT DESERVES ON KTU!!! we should applaud them for taking the stand!!!

as for rob dont call them childish...they are taking a stand like men!!! i am not a tka cheerleader, however this deserves respect and we need to stand behind them!!!!
 
TKA... as much as I would love to see you guys perform at Beatstock, lets face it... the concert is gonna be sold out whether you're there or not. And that is in no way an insult, its the truth, I love you guys and love seeing you live. Beatstock would be a great opportunity to get your new music out to the KTU listeners, and hopefully after hearing it they will pressure KTU to play it by requesting it etc...


As for those who are debating over whether or not to buy tickets...
Beatstock is such a fun concert, last year they put Johnny O, Coro, Cynthia, and Safire all on at once, they all sang their seperate songs and backup for each other and they looked like they were having such a great time, it was so awesome. Definitely don't wanna miss it...

Rob, o.k. first of all last years Beatstock sucked. Your ass wasn't backstage and behind the scenes like I was. It was all unorganized and pathetic. Like I said before, KTU is the first to reach out to Freestyle artists when they through a big show but when it comes time to play a new freestyle track they bullshit around as always. As for T.K.A. I've know Angel, K, and Tony for years and if you guys think that every show they do is a promo you keep thinking that. If shitty freestyle artists keep putting out shit that sucks then you can forget it. That's what's hurting in the freestyle department. The productions and vocals suck and it's killing our comeback.
 
People can think what they want, but ty, TKA, pretty much all the artist that have done shows for KTU, & Myself, really know what goes on behind the scene's of these shows. So your not really part of that area of the BIZ, your really have NO IDEA of the sh*t that happens. It has nothing to do with new or old product... Good or GGGREAT songs (cause we all know that there are many songs played on KTU as well as many other stations across the county that SUX!!! Yet still get the sh*t pushed out of them because the polotics involved as well as the people involved, have the power to do it).

This has everything to do with REAL support for Freestyle... Either New School or Old School.... If you are always going to fall back on what ALWAYS brings people to your shows, then at least help the artist that help you...

Damb Shame...... Lots of haters lately... BUT NON HAVE EVER done a damb thing. Either yesterday, today, or tomm....
 
O.S. what i;m saying is...instead of coming on here crying about respect, go in the studio and make some NEW BANGIN freestyle.

You're not gonna get much respect from the industry if you haven't had a hit in 13 yrs. And no disrespect to you, but you haven't had that "HUGE" freestyle hit that went mainstream, so how much respect do you want ? Radio doesn't play any of your material in regular rotation.

Make the product, and the respect will come.

Once again, most of the freestyle artists still around still want to live on the success they had 15 yrs ago. Thats the problem with freestyle in 2002, most of the artists want to still talk about the success they had with their old jams years ago

MAKE NEW PRODUCT ! KEEP IT ALIVE !!
 
I really don't care what went on backstage, all i know is, the performances were great, the artists on stage looked like they were having a great time, i had a great time, my friends all had a great time, and it was well worth every penny spent. You can't expect a concert with so many performers to run 100% smoothly, lets be real here. I thought they did a great job.
 
I been to the last 2 Beatstocks, and i thought they were fantastic. I'm hoping to be at this years show also with, or without TKA...lol 🙂

Smoothrhythm, who are you, and why were you backstage in the first place? I'm sure its very chaotic backstage to all kinds of shows.

tka shouldn't be mentioned here pertaining to freestyle. they weren't a solution to your claim that "shitty freestyle artists keep putting out shit that sucks then you can forget it. The productions and vocals suck and it's killing our comeback", not that their music was bad, but it wasn't freestyle, so they had no part in contributing to it. but anyways, i can't be mad at tka for taking that stand.
