I very rarely start threads myself, so I must be pretty upset at some comments I read on a thread discussing Latinos in Hip Hop and how it relates to Freestyle. Some people mentioned that Beatnuts dissed TKA on their new Cd because they were jealous of TKA. I don't see the logic behind rappers who would at this very moment outsell TKA being jeoulous of them. Let's keep in mind that the Beatnuts after leaving Loud records are not on as big of a label right now as TKA is. Beatnuts would still out sell TKA and they would be doing the music that they are known for (underground style hip hop) NO POP! TKA on a big label (Tommy Boy) has to water down their music, ignore the feelings of freestyle fans, and make pop music could still not outsell Beatnuts. Let's also remember that currently, Beatnuts gets more love in the barrio than TKA especially after that disastrous "Forever" album back in 2001 as the Yankees and the true spirit of the Bronx was snaked by the snakes in the World Series. I know my feelings have a lot of merit and credibility as I like freestyle more than hip hop, but it upsets me to hear false propaganda. I have much more respect for artists that will always rep their genre of music over artists that would snake their original form of music in an effort to try to sell a few more records. If freestyle had more artists that were dedicated to it the way that the Beatnuts are dedicated to hip hop, freestyle would not have slipped as far as it has. I just think that a lot of people don't realize how damaging the effects of TKA's abandonment of freestyle really were for freestyle music. Kind of ironic because TKA played a huge hand in starting this whole thing.
