Sit In With My Two Turn Tables, Records, Cd Player, & My Computer Then You Will See How It Is Done ( Along With Lots Of Headaches & Patience). The Computer Is Just Another Tool For The Dj's. It's A Lot Faster & Easier Then Cutting And Splicing Tape On 1/4 Inch Reel To Reel For Multi Editing Like I Used To Do Back In The Day When I First Started. That Was Hard Work. People That Are Old School Know Exactly What I'm Talking about. /QUOTE]

hey bbj, you forgot to mention when you splice the tape and messed up you had to start over....i still have my reel to reel and 8 track recorder(4 track mixing in the earlier stages)......to stay in practice
yes as said before,i'm from the beginning of freestyle and it's development over the years....i been a dj since 1983 (with technics 1200's) and a dj since 1980 with the belt drive table.. so i been around for some time and must say the computer is the tool for the 21st century dj if he wants to stay in bizzz
as far as mixing goes:i was known for 3 tables when i played and had 6 at the house for those mega mix tapes...i still have 6 tables and plan to put my set back together and i will add a computer .....as i said when i joined cf
"I'M BACK BECAUSE FREESTYLE'S BACK"

Oh well Diaz, we all do things. Were all not innocent. You give me a good legit dj that has a good record from his beginnings until now and ill give you all the reason in the world to talk. It looks like to me that you dont like bad boy joe on a personal level. I mean I see your devotions and their all to get this guy down from where he's at now when all you couldve done was just say it once in a thread. But you just keep going. LOL

If Joe ever did anything to you.....i'd like to know. Why not just say it?

Reel To Reel

Yeah You Know When You Are Looking For A 1/2 Splice Beat Tape And You Cant Find It ,or You Work On A Multy Edit For 3 Hrs On One Song And At The End You Dont Like It , And You Only Have 4 To 8 Ch Reels And You Have To Go Back And Record Over Track 1 ,and Now Track 2 Its No Good Oh Boy !!!! What A Mess ,you Know What Im Talking About .....

Badboy Joe; What up kid. This is David "The One" Mendez. I haven't personally met you yet but I did appear on two tracks on your Freeze Cd (I gave you my heart): Memories (track2) and The Dynamic Duo XL Extreme edit (track 17) It was a pleasure to be on the same cd with you; and thank you and Gene for the opportunity to do so.

There are alot of stories floating around about Me as "The One" a/k/a Dj Damixx.
I stopped replying to them (feeding the fire/egoes); some dude from equador and another from hawaii who share the same name (damixx) took the time to email me and tell me off and told me to get rid of the name; I simply asked them to publicly battle and never heard from them again. I retired the name in favor of "The One" given to me by my former partner and still close friend Freddy the edit Rivera. I had no idea that I could extreme edit on a computer; and Fred heard a Justin Timberlake remix that I did last year and we decided to extreme edit the mix and put it out again and the Dynamic Duo was born. (April 2003) I wasn't editing on computers; and when Fred told me that it could be done digitally i was like; no way!?!?!? We sat in front of the computer; he did two things; it was like checkers and after 10 - 15 minutes I understood it all. 4 days later I did something he said I shouldn't have done and then he dubbed me the one; well he actually called me luke skywalker at first and said I had it all along and just didn't know it. We're matrix freaks so Morpheus (Fred) called me Neo cause of the understanding and the extreme matrix multi edits I started hitting him with. Anyhow we still remain very close and if you heard otherwise well; that's because of katts like the above who follow your work and for some reason try do discredit you.
You're Megamixes are dope; keep doing your thing; I too am from Brooklyn and you know how Brooklyn does (I got your back)
peace and I hope to meet and collab with you one day.

David "The One" Mendez

love the old school mix...bought back alot of memories..great mix i was like wow im twenty again!! breakdancing days..back in the navy showing people what new york was about while stationed in chicago and Virginia!! at a time when i was a dj and showing peoples the new york style i remember the local boys hating me for the female attention i got as the DJ at a time when mc hammer and vanila ice were blazing the charts i was that SPIC mutha phuck that the base was envious of for spinning freestyle on the "taste of the big apple nights" i was that spic that brang freestyle to virginia beach me and the "portsmouth party crew" we converted a country western bar with sawduast on the floor and ten gallon hats into a lighted dance floor and pumping beats and a disco ball installed and everyone wishing they were from new york.. you can imagine the first night i played "lisa lisa can you feel the beat" after a johnny cash song and transforming this club into the place to be!! i did that me and the PPC (portsmouth party crew) a bunch of cocky new yorkers takin over the spot showing how dance moves where done and what freestyle music was.. we were celeberties any club we went to we were introduced as "party people the PPC is in the house"!! glory days for me and my brothers..dam good days days before any of you knew what freestyle was.........when TKA was a new group
