I have this argument with my brother all the time. It still doesn't make sense to me. Why can't rappers just find another name than try to take it from us. Most Rap I hate, I only like the new one with Buster Ryhmes and Mariar Carey. (I think I spelled her name wrong)

When I go out to a club or whatever & wanna request some Freestyle I ususally ask the DJ if they have any Freestyle Club & most of the time he knows what I'm talkin about. So why not refer to it as that??

Just my input. To put a title on any specific type of music is tough because it gets put into a catagory and marketed that way. Since music has been sold, it has always been this way.


Also rap music is not Hip Hop. Hip Hop is a culture, a way of living, a way of expression. Rap is just verbal peotry, for better or worse. The early days of Rap was more close to the culture of what Hip Hop was, but now it is just a segment of the Multi Billion Dollar Music Business.

The other terms, that I have heard for our music are: High Energy, Dance Music, Latin Hip Hop,
 
THE NEW PEOPLE NEED TO BE SCHOOLED, ON WHAT WE KNOW, AND HOW SERIOUS WE TAKE OUR MUSIC..
