Mike and Mr Freestyle, what new freestyle do u want ktu to play? i'm not a big fan of the new stuff, but u guys act like there is TONS of new good freestyle out there. what new freestye songs should radio be playing ? unless i''m missing something, i don't know any new good shit out there, except 'can u stand the rain'
 
WELL FOR STARTERS HOW ABOUT THE NEW NOEL? NEW TKA SONGS HOW ABOUT JULIO'S ANGELINA, NEW STEVIE B. , NEW LIL SUZY, OTHER SONGS ON THE LAST SA-FIRE CD. HOW ABOUT BUFFY, SOME MIGUEL REYES. GOT THE POINT? NOT THE SAME OLD SHIT AS USUAL.
 
My friends I've been doing my share of KTU bashing since the "old" board way back when. It's useless. KTU is a corporately owned station that follows in the same basic format as its sister stations like Z100. They don't know nor do they care to any freestyle music besides the established "basic" songs. They aren't catering to a freestyle loving audience, they're catering to women aged 21-34 or some shit demograph like that. The fact that they give us Sunday nights says a lot. As far as the Bad Boy Joe situation, that just goes to show how shady they can be. Even getting past the genre of freestyle, has anybody noticed that KTU is supposed to be a station more or less based in DANCE MUSIC? I GUARANTEE you all, listen to the top 103 songs of the year countdown on New Year's weekend, and you will DEFINATELY see that after #40, 90% of the songs will be Top 40 bullshit. KTU obviously isn't interested in breaking any new dance songs. They still talk up Tamia "Stranger in my House" on the air like its some sort of freakin big deal. Maybe 8 months ago, but not now. The fact that Deborah Cox "I Never Knew" has been on the playlist for OVER A YEAR now shows how hopelessly outdated they are. They'll talk up Kevin Ceballo like he's freaking God, but do we REALLY need another Latin crooner 80 times a week on the air? Break a new dance song once in a while why don't ya its your goddamn format. Those of you who don't agree with me and say "well they're all about ratings" and this and that, please remember I'm not asking for them to turn KTU into a 24 hour freestyle and hard house marathon. I know the radio business rather well and I know what is possible and impossible. Just give us dance music lovers something to work with here. Hearing some cheap ass Mike Rizzo remix of an O-Town song from last summer just ain't cutting it. Anyone agree with me?

I'm listening to KTU right NOW! The ONLY time I listen to KTU is when they spin freestyle! Mad props to Judy Torres & Johnny Budz for keeping the FREESTYLE LOVE ALIVE (even if it isn't as much as I'd like!).

I just heard one of the new TKA songs, woo-hoo, nice mix guys!!

I have to admit that the only time I listen to KTU is on Sunday nights. I think we have enough top 40 stations in NY. It's gettting that they are all playing the same thing and I don't like that, I like to have a choice. I wish there was some type of stations in NY that played more of the urban dance, like HOT 103 was back in the day. Not like I know much about radio, but from simply a listeners point of view, it's boring to have so many top 40 stations that play the same thing.
 
I heard the New TKA last night through the audio feed of the Free for all, it was tight! It's like I said, these stations play what they feel sell. Right now, teen pop, bling-bling hiphop is what sells. Many radio companies own over 10 different radio stations in one city. KTU is owned by the same company that owns HOT995 here(DC); Clear Channel. Thats why most of these stations sound alike. It's corperate thats all.

KTU IS A DAM LOSER STATION FOR 40 YEAR OLD WOMEN TRYING TO BE 19 AGAIN. WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS. HOW ABOUT THAT OTHER UNTALENTED ASSWIPE SHAKIRA? THESE ARTISTS ALL MAKE ME SICK. I hear you. KTU is trying to take Z100's teenybopper/TRL loving fans, and WPLJ's soccer mom type listeners. Same thing here in DC, w/Hot995 and Z104, they suck!! That's why I listen to internet radio!

I can't listen to KTU from here much so I'm not sure when and how much they play La Bouche, but if it is only recently, then it might be in tribute to Melanie Thornton, the lead singer of La Bouche who was recently killed in that plane crash in Europe.

I totally agree with all of you. Who can suggest something. I've been calling KTU but that doesn't seem to help. Is there anyone out there that can assist us angry fans.
 
Here's the alternative. Since I listen to radio through the net, I sometimes listen to this NYU radio station, on wed nights, they have a time where they play some hiphop, but they play lots of freestyle at 10:00 wed and sometimes the weekends. They play the new TKA and other new freestyle tracks. Try listening to them sometimes. College radio rocks!!!!
