And people still ask why...Freestyle isn't taken seriously by mainstream radio and major record labels!?!
If you tuned into Johnny's mixshow last night to hear the World Premiere of the Cynthia & Sa-Fire duet you will know exactly why!!!
You have 2 Freestyle legends, Divas - if you will. They both have the potential to create some excepetional Freestyle on their own but together on a duet, this project should have been even more powerful.
As soon as they decided to remake "CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN", a song that was perfect 15 years ago when New Edition originally recorded it - the project fell apart (at least in my eyes, anyways)...
I think myself and lot of other people were looking forward to ORIGINAL new Freestyle music by 2 of Freestyle's top stars together. The decision of doing a remake, especially of a song that was perfect in it's original form has cheapened the entire experience.
The end result - "CAN YOU STAND THE RAIN" by Cynthia & Sa-Fire sounded more like a rejected track from the SO-SO DEF BASS ALL STARS series then as the "Freestyle even of the new millenium"...
Truely disappointing - to say the least!!!
