All my Philly, or near Philly CFers (Pa or Jersey) artists & agents read this ASAP!
😀 PhillyBronx, JoeDocPa, and others, we need to get together, if possible as a cohesive unit, and get some artists to perform in Philly, or as close to Philly (close-by parts of Jersey and Pa. included) as possible. I wanted to go to the show too, and couldn't get there! Nyasia would be a GREAT CHOICE as one of the first freestyle artists we choose to hype to the clubs!I have in my mind too, other artists/groups that I want to approach.
I need help if we are to make this happen! I need CFers that can actually tell the clubs that we ask to do this that they will hype a freestyle show, and get themselves, and their friends to the club!
In my town as an example, I have at least 3 clubs/bars in mind to approach.
In Philly my daughters (she's a CF member) ex bf lol is, guess what, a Philly club DJ, and he has friends and acquantinces at the clubs in and around Delaware Ave. I have already approached him to get the ball rolling. He was "originally" a freestyle fanatic like the rest of us, but he went off in the direction of Trance/House/Techno. In the next few weeks he and I will be seeing if this will work, and if any of the clubs like Egypt and Shampoo will try this out and give us a chance.
The Philly show I went to in the summer of 2001 was at Chemistry I think (Freestyle Rush). Maui's closed from what I've heard. Some of these Philly clubs have to be looking for a change from the old routine lol, and hey, as an added bonus lol we freestylers are "nonviolent" right? From what I'm hearing on the news, some Philly clubs are having a prob with patrons that are NOT as well-behaved as us lol.
Also, my daughters old best friend is going to be asked to help us. She just graduated from Temple with a Bachelor's in Public Relations and shes working for a co. thats working with the clubs, like Egypt. Back in the day she used to listen to freestyle at the local roller rink, but then she went to Raves in high school I guess, and her musical tastes changed.
So I need ALL the help I can get, who's with me on this? I need other Cfers to call, email, and give input to the clubs and to the friends with connections that I contact.
What do you think, should I pursue this?? How many of you are willing to travel to Philly, or within 45-mins-1 hour away? How many artists are willing to perform in Philly, (or close by)?
