you already prolly noticed the same questions in the canadian thread....

curious to know when did Germany embrace freestyle...

what artists have participated in the promotion of freestyle there...

and what parts of Germany have the largest freestyle following???
 
I don't really know when Germany embrace Freestyle, but I think about 1993 or 1995 or something like that, perhaps even earlier. I'm too young to answer these question 😛

The second question ... I don't know either. ZYX Music promote the Freestyle artist most I think.

And the last question. As I know, Freestyle is very popular in the south of germany, primary in bavaria. Many german Freestyle artist come from my hometown Augsburg 😎

i think Freestyle is popular at several Areas since arround 90 or earlier,
When the songs like Fantasy girl or Take me in your arms came out in the US, the 12´inch Singles hit us directly after their US release.
I speak for my hometown Nürnberg it is between Frankfurt and Munich (Augsburg where Julian live - Hometown of Free System... is about 60 Miles away from Nürnberg) we had back in the days a very good sorted shop where you can get mostly all the Releases from the US....the owner of the shop traveld every month to the states and took a lot of Records with him......Once he brought 100 copies of Nyasia "Now and forever". He also ordered a lot of Records from the US.....Freestyle and Miami Bass/Rap......Egyptian Lover, Twilight 22, Gigolo Tony and many others. It was soooo cool...every Friday when he gets new stuff the place was ooooooovercrowded !!!! I think the most famous releases like Lil Suzy and Johnny O, Nyasia and Stevie B and others wer released back arround 87/88. Stevie B performed in Nürnberg 2 times back in time. As far i know only Freesystem go arround several places and perform at clubs (i knew this also back arround 2 years)
No German Freestyle Group really make promotion as far as i know.
Bodybase / Alexander Thompson comes from Nürnberg.
So you can see that Freestyle is played and known in the Southern Part of Germany. In the other parts like the north of Germany you have a big Rave and Techno Scene...in the West is the Rap and Hip Hop Scene and in the East a little bit of everything but no Freestyle.

german freestyle

Hi this is the Unit, we´re a freestyle project from Germany Kassel.
So we´re in the middle of germany doing Freestyle!! Good Freestyle!!!
Basically it is really hard to do promotion for Freestyle in Germany
cuz it´s not as wide spread as dance or techno over here.
But we promise to do our best to evoke a rebirth of this music cuz people know and like it but they simply forgot about it. Freestyle beats are used over and over but peeps just don´t know that it is Freestyle!!!
We want to do quality Freestyle, high quality production, vocals that are not pitched or tuned. There´s so much non quality stuff produced whether it is Germany or elsewhere and by now it is time to select.

Keep Freestyle alive cuz it´s not just a fantasy beat!!!
It´s a lifestyle.

well yeah we´re working on a album. Yesterday we started recording after we had to stop for a little while cuz I was really sick and couldn´t sing.
There was one song for free download at clubfreestyle but Jack had to put it down. As U still want to download it please click on www.sasanmusic.com and there u ´ll see how to do it.
