2 New Releases To Avoid By Any Means Necessary!!!

In my on-going efforts to prove everyone that says that I do not support new Freestyle wrong, I bought not one but TWO new releases today.

The first CD is REMINISCE by Malyssa (© 2002 Rhythm Drive Records). The album’s title, of course, comes from the song that failed to live up to all of it’s hype. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! This album is a total waste of 57 minutes worth of time. The only good song on this CD out of a total 11 songs and 3 remixes (14 tracks total) is “FOREVER MORE”(complete with “Planet Rock” loop). It’s not even that the song is that good, it’s just that this album is so bad that it makes the song stand out.

Now as Freestyle Crap-Fest 2002 continues: it truly pains my soul to give Judy Torres the thumbs down…

The only reason why I bought Judy Torres’ GREATEST HITS (© 2002 Empire Music/BMG) is because she is the undisputed queen of Freestyle. I already knew the unfortunate truth about this CD – none of Judy’s classics are the original versions. Instead, all of the classic songs have been rerecorded and produced by “Collage” himself, Adam Marano. Some of these re-recorded songs are extremely painful to listen to. The first verse of the song “LOVE STORY”is out of sync with the music and sounds awful. After listening to this song I felt like I was making a meat order at the butcher shop.

While the album has many faults, Adam Marano tried hard to re-create the magic of the original songs, unfortunately it just didn’t work out quite right. A perfect example would be the new version of “MY SOUL”. The intricate keyboards from the original song are GONE, replaced by a half-assed wannabe keyboard pattern that doesn’t come close to the original song.

If anyone is considering buying either or both of these CDs, please learn from my mistake and keep your money in your pocket. These CDs aren’t good enough to even burn yourself a copy from a friend.

Thanks for the info Rhoq 🙂

YES THANKS A LOT RHOQ....WHAT'S HAPPENING OUTTHERE..IN THE WORLD OF FREESTYLE???(RIGHT NOW)

DID WE NEED SOME "NEW BLOOD"...???

DJ SUGI...😎

Short of that, You must go north to our Canada or Europe and BRazil for the good stuff, or remix of international branded artists on major labels.

OK guys... This is your point of view...

I´m sorry, but I like them both!

And Rhoq... You got an album produced by Adam Marano (and, as you stated above, you knew about this) and now you are complaining that it sounds like Adam Marano?!
Does this make sense...?

But OK, I´ll accept your opinions. So you have to accept mine... Thanx! 😉

whats needed

What is needed in my opinion if it is possoble is for some acts like judy torres and cynthia and the rest is to get beack into the studio
to make new music

Now as Freestyle Crap-Fest 2002 continues:

Words of Wisdom!!! Not that I had any intention of buying Judy's greatest hits since I have most of her songs and "Love story" it doesn't surprise me to hear that "MaRAno" F**keD it up.Thanks for letting us know.I experienced this all through the 90's until I finally became cautious of what to buy after many dissapointments.

Hey Rhoq,

Thanks for your opinion. I am the one behind the MALYSSA album and although your review wasn't positive, I'm glad that you looked out for it in the stores.

In the wake of reading your opinion, I would have to disagree with your review.

Malyssa's album incorporates different styles of dance music that includes old school planetrock beats, but also includes disco ("Crazy" and "Tonight"), trance ("Reminisce" and "Here With You"), and Pop ("First Love"). We also included ballads because MALYSSA loves ballads - we made sure that her music reflects MALYSSA's musical taste.

We did give back to the old school freestylers out there with the track "Forever More".

Of course, we want everyone to love her music, but music is a very subjective animal. That's why it's so hypnotizing! So for everyone on this forum, respect Rhoq's opinion - but listen to the album first and form your own personal objective opinion. And post it here for the world to see....

Peace to everyone,

Thanks...

Wow...Someone that actually says it like it is. CA STYLE!

HEY RHOQ

since you don't like your Malyssa CD do you want to sell it to me for $5.00 shipped? Just checking if you want to sell for cheap.
THanks

eeek!! I should have read this post first. I recently bought Malyssa's 'Reminisce' and it was not at all what I expected. Like Rhoq said "Forever more" is the only good track on the CD. I was disappointed by the others. My friends were listening to this as well and found it very boring.
