Here in Canada, Information Society's tracks "walking Away", "running" and "pure energy (whats on your mind)" are 100% Freestyle. Again, youa re entitled to your opinion, even if uit is wrong; it's all good.

I don't take anyone's opinion but rather consider it for my own decision making. I feel that Information Society had a lot of Freestyle influence and that "Running" is Freestyle. As for Kenny, Neo, he is old school and sh*ts you not.Critics don't mean anything.Did you know that some restaurants can pay to be placed in Zagats....doesn't mean their good!!!!

and guess what???????

KTU does not play all 3 of those songs. maybe 1.

But WDRE/LIR played all "3" up until they got bought. and do you know what? Theyre a MODERN ROCK station.

Now, what would a modern rock station be doing by playing freestyle songs?

come here.......I will tell you...........

ready..............??????

CAUSE THEY ARENT FREESTYLE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the most, they are CROSSOVER TOP 40 SONGS that went into the dance genre, much like "SEND ME AN ANGEL".

I'm old skool too but I embrace the new skool as long as it sticks to its roots and is quality.Without getting off subject,I was a teen when info soc released these songs and i can tell you that they were play at freestyle parties and freestyle sets at clubs.

Critics don't mean anything.Did you know that some restaurants can pay to be placed in Zagats....doesn't mean their good!!!!

No,but in order to be a music critic for a respectable publication you have to have a musical training and education. That means you have to at least know the difference between a clef, staff note, bar lines, bass cleff and tempo and time for starters. That is if you going to claim an opinon as a "fact".And being a bedroom DJ doesn't cut it....

Yo Neo what's up with your post...I never posted the second half of the quote you posted above so please clarify that!!!!! It is also a FACT that many famous bands have had members that cannot read music but can play the instruments better than anyone!!!

people had "freestyle parties"? :confused

dam!! where was i when this happened? LMAO!!!:sleep

sorry, i was in the adult clubs when you were at your teen parties.

as for what WDRE/LIR played, go look at thier playlists since you are so ignorant.

as for thier songs being "freestyle", why arent they ALL included on any freestyle comps?

I only see "RUNNING" on a couple of them.

Kenny,

Whatever your opinion, "Running" & "Walking away" from Information Society are Freestyle music. You will have to accept it one day! LOL. 😉 This is a fact.
AKA, Voice in fashion, Cause & Effect, etc. did Freestyle songs.
Personally, I loved the way to mix a POP/New Vave voice to Freestyle beats. It was particularly original.

By the way, what is your definition of Freestyle? Please be as more specific as you can.
This is a serious question Kenny. Thanx. 😉

sorry, but I will go with a radio station that specializes in modern rock and trust thier decision since THEY DO NOT PLAY FREESTYLE but they play MODERN ROCK. LIR/DRE plays all of INFO SOC's stuff, KTU DOESNT.

Again, if all thier songs are freestyle, why arent they found on any freestyle comps? I only see RUNNING on a select few.

my definition of freestyle is a very secluded one. Mine will differ from many other people here. being a new yorker, I dont think anybody would like my answer. Only a select few will.

You don't present facts, only opinion...one which has no foundation since what you know of music is very limited to your taste and small world.

There are DJ'S and then there are MIXOLOGISTS.And I should know about radio since I make a living on the radio. This thread is going in circles so im done. You can't teach an old dog new tricks 🙂

Bro, its a FACT. It aint my fault if you never listened to DRE/LIR. I cant show you anything that isnt there anymore.

my taste in music surpasses yours, im quite sure. I dont alienate myself to just one genre of music. I listen to classic rock, disco, funk, punk, new wave, alterantive, grunge, hip hop, rap, heavy metal.....shall I go on? :rolleyes

you forget, Im a friggin new yorker and we get all types of music here. But im sure your knowledge is very limited so i dont blame you for not knowing.

Kenny,

I'm agree with Neostyle, if you don't bring facts, this conversation will go in circles...this is a fact too. 😉

By the way, i've heard those Information Society's tracks on generalist radio stations here in France, that doesn't mean anything. This is why I'm asking you again why you think that those songs are not considered as Freestyle music? This is my only question. LOL

Anyway, I won't tell you that my knowledge of music surpasses yours!!! LOL Just kidding...

This is only remains a conversation not a kind of war of words! LOL 😉
