big wooptie doo!

they still aint freestyle!

WDRE/LIR plays their songs AND THEY NEVER, EVER PLAY FREESTYLE.

HOT 97 also played FINE YOUNG CANNIBLES, AL B SURE & KEITH SWEAT, I guess it makes those groups "freestyle" also! :rolleyes

We were talking about info society not the above.Stay focus. And its insignificant what Wdre/lir plays or doesn't play since when do they determine what is or isn't freestlye???As,I said you have your opinion and you're entitled to have it.No matter how wrong it is 🙂

no, but they only played new wave, synth pop & modern rock and INFO SOC's songs were played on a regular basis.

Fifteen years ago today on the billboard hot charts there was a freestyle song in the top ten: "walking away" by Information Society at number 10.

Also the pop house track "I wanna have some fun" by Samantha Fox was at number 8.

15 years ago i was holding a residency as a dj and was making mixed sets for the radio :afroman until they all turned their back on freestyle :confused

so i left the whole scene

Here's what someone who gets PAID to review music wrote about "walking away".

Amazon.com
The earliest incarnation of this Minnesota band of tech-geeks was essentially a rock band with a deep love for club music, and their first widely distributed record splits the difference. The hit "What's on Your Mind (Pure Energy)," featuring a Leonard Nimoy sample, is essentially the great lost Duran Duran single, but the rest of the album is pleasingly all over the place. "WALKING AWAY" owes as much to LATIN FREESTYLE as it does to mainstream dance-rock, "Lay All Your Love on Me" lights a fire under Abba's tailbone, and the last few tracks slow the tempo way down to an electro crawl. The album is inconsistent and fillery, but it demonstrates a bunch of routes dance music might have gone in the late '80s and didn't quite. --Douglas Wolk

Douglas Wolk,is not your average joe that writes a review on Amazon. He writes for many different publications such as the Boston Phoenix and the Village Voice.I'll take his opionion any day over someone with no musical training whatsoever.
