This is War!! We're starting a Petition!!!

I am starting a petition, and I would like to get everyone's real name and email address, so I can send it to Z103.5.
Let's see if all of us can make a difference

Good luck with the petitions and what not....Changing the station Managements mind is like beating a dead horse...It will get nowhere fast.
Not knocking everyone's efforts but look at it realistically. Z pulled the plug on the show, without any future notice to the listenership......do you think they were concerned with their gracious listeners....nope! What it comes down to is the only god management prays to, the high & mighty---------> $$$.

Put it this way freestyle kiddies, If I was a certain freestyle dj, and I just got publicly kicked in the :shakinboo without a good-bye show, after how many years??? I would start looking elsewhere to set-up freestyle shop.


Sure I've had my quirks with Z103.5 in the past, Hell I even won a key that could've started the Z103.5 Mustang (which I should've won lol). But give a man his due respect. After so many years on the air, give tha man 1 final good-bye show, A cigar, a snifter of cognac, and some comfy slippers to put his feet in , kick back reflect on HIS contribution to Toronto's music scene.

freestyleplanet i just emailed you, good luck. i think you need it because the same thing was done with kiss 92, they had a huge petition i think and look what's happened. but still good luck with this petition.
 
I don't think there's anything that can be done to change this first FHV5 was a flop then they took the Freestyle out of the Invasion and now this :crap
 
i've been thinking.. looks like this is harsh but i cant imagine how it felt for the tons of people who had to witness freestyle's slow decline during the early 90s. i wonder if that was more painful to go through than the loss of a show.
 
there is nothing that can be done... Z is no longer the station that cares about their listeners... so f*ck them then

as for Tony Monaco... I give him full respect for doing the longest show in history of Z... thanks for the occasional beats

damn! i haven't been here in a while and BOOM! this is huge news to me! damn the frenzy is no longer! it's a sad day indeed! like some of you have said it's all about the almighty $$$$$$$$... that sunday playlist is absolute garbage!!! filth!!! nastyness!! but i give props to Monaco for keeping the frenzy alive for so many years! and who knows it might have been Monaco's idea to cancel the show (never know)... damn this sucks... Neither Z or any other station care about their listeners that is the absolute truth... all they crae about is the bling bling $$$ bottom line it's reality! hopefully we will still be able to at least buy freestyle in the future!

We should definitelty bring it back...I was going to record for the next Freestyle Heaven CD but with the cancellation of the Frenzy everything went down hill. On the bright side, this highschool teacher was a back up dancer for Stevie B. 🙂
 
I know one of you mentioned going elsewhere if we were Tony, but all these other stations are playing urban. As much as we hate that the Frenzy was cancelled, Z103.5 is still the only Canadian radio station that plays Euro and Freestyle. We gotta stick with what we have now, keep freestyle alive by purchasing CD's and attending events such as the Invasion, PartyMania, and the Rush. These events have been going down hill so we gotta support this stuff guys. If we keep doing this maybe the Frenzy will come back one day. Don't stop listening to 103 because if we do, than we'll go from having little freestyle on the radio airwaves to having no freestyle. Just keep the support high....as long as there are freestyle lovers; there will always be freestyle.

Tiana, welcome to CF. We're always happy to have new members, particularly in the Canadian Forum. We Canadians are under rated but we can kick it with the best!

As for Z103, it's hard to support a station who's only interest is the bottom line. The Frenzy show was doing well and it's listenership numbers had increased in the last quarter. It wasn't hurting their revenues to have the show on. And let's face it, any freestyle or euro invasion event they plug would only benefit from a dedicated hour or two the the genre.

If they wanted people to start supporting their events more, then they should have changed venues. The Docks isn't the most convenient venue, for one thing and for another, not a lot of people like the Docks. Personally, I think the place is a hole.

If they were smart they would hold the event at Kingswood. Then people have an area to party as well as spend the day on rides and what not. Any event I have ever been to or planned at Kingswood did extremely well. But then that's my $0.02. I wonder if the powers that be don't see this post and we see something this summer at Kingswood!
 
the way to get the freestyle frenzy back is to request freestyle all the time 12 is all request hour if we all request freestyle they have no choice but to play freestyle show them that this is what we want
 
i try calling in but it's always busy.. i just have no patience sitting by the phone or my cell redialing till it maybe gets free...
 
and once u get through on the z lines it takes like 5 minutes before they pick up the phone rite
 
well i was thinking of emailing them untill theres like only freestyle songs for request
i dont know just a thought of getting some NEW freestyle on the radio
 
I know this a old thread, and Im not Even Canadian. But You should take what ever steps that need to be taken. If You Have to Beat a Dead Horse.....Then Beat It. Take the chance! Sighn The petition. This is a prime example of what happens in the US. Dont just sit there and wach something Die in front of you. Make a Move , Take a Stand. Take the Risk , Take the Chance!!!! You have NOTHING to Loose except Canadian FREESTYLE! So What the hell are you waiting for?? Send me The petition! I'll Sighn It for you!

Tiana the reason why z1035 is playing the euro & the freestyle is not because they just love it so much its because there is no other radio station playing it so from playing euro & freestyle they simply get more listeners now if a radio station comes out playing mostly euro/freestyle your gonna start seeing big changes in Z's format ... mark my word 🙂

Those events have nothing to do with freestyle maybe back then it did
"euro-freestyle invasion" thats about it but now its euro invasion.

Summer rush is not even considerd a dance event and defently not a freestyle event. Watch probobly this year you wont even see one f-style act, maybe 1 if ur lucky.
