i remember a few yrs ago the only radio that used to catch it was in my dad's car every sunday no matter wut id sit in his car to listen to the frenzy (come to think of it thats kinda sad) ne ways yeah they modified it now lol
 
Ditto Phillybronx. I have the link on my computer to that radio station. I must give props to that radio station. I'll have something to listen to every now and then when I get on the computer at home. Maybe some day if I ever get to Toronto again I'll be putting it on that station.

anyway ya z103 is really THE radio station i listen to, the only one that plays good dance music. the only thing I hate is hammer's enthusiasm for rock music... (bonjovi ew)

Now here we go, First of all, I was a disbeliever back in the day! Now, I'm not! I respect the peeps @ "Z" especially Danny D, a very talented DJ/Producer and friend. If you had any idea of the type of person he is, then I'm sure we wouldn't be seeing this type of hate on the boards! I've spun with Dan, I know his crew from back in the dayz to now! I'm not a "Z-Groupie" for God sake I barely listen to local radio these days! I've posted the completely same thing about a year ago. (Only my thread was about money and play list rotation I never once attacked the integrity of the station/talent/artists or its personalities!) For that type of stuff on the boards, I'm ashamed to say we hang on the same site! The whole point of this site is to pump up and promote freestyle around the world!
WE'RE NOT DOING THAT BY HAVING THIS TYPE OF LOCAL HATE!
As I've heard from one of our friendly mods, "We're the minority here" and by hating on our own community we're only hurting ourselves! We finally got what Canadian peeps have always wanted. A bit of respect from the scene south of the border! Unfortunately, we have to take what we have for granted! Danny D isn't even a member here! How can a guy defend himself, his talent/effort to bring YOU good music? You wanted someone to prove you wrong...Here I am!
HOW'S THIS FOR AN IDEA...for those of you who believe that Danny D is a fraud then why don't YOU try this...
You can...DJ, Produce, and remix a 100% "PURE" Mix...20 minutes in length...No screw ups...no "BITING BEATS/SCRATCHES/CUTS" from any other DJ's with just the perfect songs! If it can be put together then maybe if we could, have CF post it up in the "BOOTH" forum or even give YOU a BIG Banner In the "Lobby" with your NAME in big bold letters & your "mega mix" link tied into the Banner!

For SHITZ & GIGGLEZ WE'LL HAVE AN OPEN FORUM WHERE CF PEEPS CAN CRITICIZE YOUR HARD WORK AND TALENT! (OR LACK THEREOF, DEPENDING ON THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCTION)

AND THE BEST PART OF IT...YOU CAN'T REPLY ANY OF THE POSTS! JUST LIKE DANNY D CAN'T!

I'm sure Danny uses a few samples from other DJ's.
But, I know that the Mixes that YOU are so quick to criticize are worked on with a lot of effort, time and talent! I don't think that Dan has gone on to say that all of the production is all his! Guyz, let's just sit back and enjoy the show. And for those that still don't believe....Well, you're all entitled to your opinions! I'm sure that there are more peeps here that are grateful to have the Mixes as they are, rather than hate down on them!




So let's see it! I'd love to hear a sample of your DJing talents!

Better yet...I'd love to send a copy to Danny D & Z103.5 for their opinion!
Maybe, we could be listening to the next "resident" DJ @ Z103.5!

As far as respect goes.... I didn't know much about Canadian Euro/Freestyle until I hit this site a few yrs back. Here in the US, alot of our popular freestyle artists have decided to move onto other genre's of music or are done w/ music b/c they couldn't move on w/o the "freestyle" label. The new artists get little love & they deserve more.

Part of the problem is the radio.. altleast here in NY, there is NO support for the artists.. who years ago.. were so in demand in the clubs & all over the airwaves. We don't have a pure dance station here.

there in canada.. you guys actually PUSH your local talent. they have your support. THAT I RESPECT! AND I love that you guys still look to put out.. what I think is pure freestyle.. w/ Elissa, Zoe, CJ.. AND I also love how even your freestyle has that EURO touch to it. Just enough where it's NOT a Euro track BUT can easily mix into ANY dance set. it gives the songs so MUCH more power & LIFE.

Just like I and a few other members have formulated our own opinions.
This isn't 'hating' its called bringing attention to those who might not have "heard the similarities" of one persons mix to another.
This post (read mine) had not even mentioned "Freestyle". Pino if he's your buddy...Thats fine...BUT...theres a striking resemblance of mixes I know for FACT that are not his, and they are claiming them as "Z exclusives".

Im sure that Danny D comes out with some good mixes.
Im not a DJ, but I have worked/promoted/entertained alongside, well known Toronto Dj's. Fact is fact sir, that YOU DO NOT CLAIM OTHER PEOPLES WORK AS YOUR OWN. Nobody really knows what happens behind closed doors. So as to say you know the inner workings of Z without actually working there (don't worry, I don't post irrelavent info without fact, I know certain folks in the CRTC and other people in this related field who could back up a lot of what is being said).

This post wasn't meant for Danny D to come out here and defend himself, but it seems you've taken it upon yourself to speak for him so I will pose you these questions:

(1) Are you there when these "live" mixes are being spun in the studio?
(2) Do you have these same mixes to compare to from these artists
whom have also worked hard to get "their own" mixes out and would like to know that a certain Canadian DJ is taking credit for their hard work:
*Samples from such albums/artists* such as...

*Dj 'Payback' Garcia --Freestyle Bomb, Second Drop
*Dj 2 Sweet Zeke --- Angel Eyes Freestyle Megamix
*Albert Cabrera -----Thump'n Freestyle Vol. 1-4

There are others, but I don't want to bore everyone to tears.

(3) Do you remember what happened when there was 'that other' radio station that went by the name of "Power 88.5" waaayyy back. Ask what happened to a few of their "resident" Dj's who used somebody elses work as their own.

Just an example of what happened to a Canadian Dj who worked in the States. "The Real Mike SteeL" worked for an American Radio station in Buffalo, Majic 102.5, he started claiming a lot of Freestyle mixes as his own, well, a couple of production companies got wind of what was going down at the station.....Needless to say he was no longer a Dj for that particular station.

Pino you seem to be a informative/mature/ and caring person. I respect that you eloquently replied to this post, if it was somebody else,they would've replied with the answer of "You suck" and left it at that.

Everyone has their preferences/opinions/justifications. I simply state what I think, just like everybody else on this board.
Simple fact of the matter is ....Time will Tell.

Myself (and a few others) were not quick to jump all over this. Information was collected and formulated to base an opinion, (you don't go into a battle un-armed).

Samples are just that "samples"...If you claim that they are somebody elses work thats fine.
Remember, eventually what you do always comes back to haunt you...someday.

Just to re-iterate from my last post:
*Why aren't the in-house mixes spun live on air? If you have the talent to do it, do it in front of the world.

Bottom-line is, I'm rattling a few cages here, I rattled Monaco's when I stated about the "same cookie-cutter playlist" he and other Z guys were using on there "live-to-airs", he responded, by changing it up for a couple of weeks to appease certain people, but its gone back to the same way....Im not surprised. If your Danny's buddy, let him know about this posting. Let him know that he isn't fooling anybody with what he is doing. I'd like to see what comes of it.

A few thoughts....Or things to ponder.....

1) Hate...Yes I'll call it hate!!! Onto "Z1035" for labeling the remixes as "EXCLUSIVE"
2) I'll warn Dan about the CRTC peeps "listening" to his Remixes and comparing them to the originals...I'm sure he'll watch out!!!
3) Why don't we hear from your band of "friends" that has formed their "opinions" similar to yours? Aren't they as outspoken as yourself?
4) Has Dan published these remixes as a profit gain for himself? I don't think so...If they have been used in a compilation, then I'm sure that the Producers of the CD/Compilation have gone through the appropriate measures to abide by the copyright laws. (Look @ the inlay of Dan's last remixed comp. (Not sure what the last one was) but I'm sure all of the copyright and producing acknowledgments are there.
5) I won't get into the finer points of DJing since you'd probably get lost with all of the IMPORTANT DJ jargon that a person would need to know to fully appreciate this thread.
6) Are you NEW? Dan isn't! I hope that you've at least gone to a "Danny D Jam" and listen to him live...It's quite the treat!
(Remember this is coming from a "retired" DJ, someone that has an appreciation for quality DJing as a result of his EXPERIENCE within the trade!)
7) Remember..."Never hate the player...Hate the game!"
(Unfortunately, you're not in the game, nor have you ever been IN the game...So don't hate....Appreciate 🙂!!!)

What a novel idea! This would also prompt awareness to the Brass over @ "Z" about that CRTC thing you mentioned! You wouldn't want anyone to loose their job over that stuff...or even WORLD listeners to loose the best dance station north of the border or possibly even North America!

Im not on here to pick fights with any of the members, (thats including you Pino).

Like the saying goes... It's a free world (hardly anymore) so we each have something to convey.
