Any one seen the comercial to the new movie "You Got Served" ?

Its basicly like the 2004 "pop / hip hop" version of "Beat Street". Any wayz the movie looks hella bootsy , and was probly made by the same Jack Offs who created the cheer leading movie "Bring It".

1. What are your thoughts on this new flick?

2. Wouldnt it be great if they made a New "Beat Streat"? You know with B-boyz and freestyle??
 
yea i saw the previews a few times. it looks like a teen flick. not somethin i want to watch.
 
I't s definitely a teen movie, but since my son is a teen and he's into that stuff, he will enjoy it. Beat street to them might seem corny, although to us that movie was the shit back in the day😉
 
Yeah my daughter wants to see it. It has break dancing in it! Wow! Just like back in the days! I remember how my kids cracked on break dancing when I used to talk about it and now it's all good because their generation is getting into it. Now it's not old anymore! :smirk KIDS!!
 
this looks like a modern remake of "beat street"/"breakin" (i remeber in high school everyone wanted to be turbo or ozone or a member of the rock steady crew!)
 
Yeah, B-boyz still facinate me. I can pop a lil , but for the most part im a F -boy, you know a "Fake dancer". --lol

wow were talking about the days before freestyle i remember how serious we where about breakin if you couldnt break you were a nerd and if you didnt know the words to rappers delight forget about it!!!!..but at least back then the only thing you worried about was losing a dance battle today kids gotta worry about getting shot or stabbed in school!!!
 
Yeah I graduated in "96" when gang violence was at its peak here in cali. alot of dead homys RIP, I hope this movie will do to dancing , what the movie "colors" did for cali. gangs

Funny that the words "let's serve" or "you got served" were used in Beat Street & by B-boys/girls back in those days.

Till I heard about this movie a few months ago, those words I only heard in these times in da gay clubs/gay scene.

When ur gonna diss someone verbally or on the dancefloor/runway, they still use: "Im gonna serve u!"
& If u win, or do it best,
leaving the crowd "gagging", & your opponent in shock, they usually say sumthin' like:
"You got served honey, ...ON A PLATTER, so take a seat!"
Or: "Its OVA for U!"
(In other words, u got dissed bad, "next please"!)

would be nice but i doubt a movie would make that innocence come back especially when the main stream hip hop now does nothing but rap or praise how great it is to be a drug runner and shoot people dead to "get repect" and having such an influence "artist" say were just preforming art what is artistic about cursing every other word ending each stupid sentence they say with a "know what im sayin" and calling every woman "bitches and hoes" i feel like and old man saying this but man times have changed since i was a teenager and definetly not for the better

true that we used to say that "we gonna serve that crew saturday night!!" or "so and sos crew is wack we served them allready they aint nothing"
