Update on all American skaters......

Well....our pairs teams have finished their part of the competition, and did not do as well as hoped.

Rena Inoue & John Baldwin Jr. finished 10th.
Tiffany Scott & Phillip Dulebohn finished 9th.

It may not sound bad, but it's almost the worst Amercian finish in years.

Ice Dancing is not much better, after the Original Dance...

Tanith Belbin & Benjamin Agosto are in 8th.
Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev are in 9th.

The free dance part of the competition airs Saturday night.

American men have finished their competition.

Timothy Goebel won the silver medal. 😀
Michael Wiess finished 5th.
Ryan Jahnke finished 13th.

The ladies have only skated their qualifying round, after the qualifying round......

Michelle Kwan is first.
Sasha Cohen is third.
Sarah Hughes is sixth.

They have to skate the short program tomorrow and finsih with the long on Saturday night.

I got to hang with Michelle Kwan this week. She was near the Tidal basin to watch The Cherry Blossoms. She is a very nice girl to talk to. She don't show off no big ego. I saw her since The World Championships is held at The MCI Center here in Downtown DC til March 30

Well, the Championships are over.

The pairs didn't fare well, as I said before.

Timothy Goebel won a silver medal.

Our two ice dancing pairs finished in the top 10. This is the first time since 1990 that we've had two Ice dancing pairs in the top 10.

Tanith Belbin & Benjamin Agosto are in 7th.
Naomi Lang & Peter Tchernyshev are in 8th.

The ladies podium sweep never happened.

Sarah Hughes managed to move from a 9th place finish to a 6th place overall finish. Truely a dissappointment after her Olympic win in Salt Lake City in 2002.

Sasha Cohen finished in 4th. However, she was able to land a triple lutz, triple toe jump combination, the first time ever she landed one in competetion.

Michelle Kwan won the gold medal. It is her 5th Gold medal in the world championships, and her 8th medal overall, when you add in her 3 silvers.
