Hello everyone! It's been a long time since some of us have talked or seen each other last. I've been reading this board and see there are some great things that can still be done for Freestyle; however we must make our presence known. We can only move forward in numbers. If anyone is interested, I have very close friends inside WMC (Winter Music Conference for those who do not know which takes place in Miami, FL) we can make a stand at this year’s conference, for ourselves...for Freestyle. For the last few years, we, the Freestyle Community is looked at, or not, as a lost breed. If we garner the support and that means buying into the convention, not just sitting by the pool, but actually attending the conference, we can start to brain storm, share experiences and new ideas for the movement. I can get us the panel, but we need the support of "our" people. Without it, we will still be where we are at. We must support it ourselves first, before the fans, listeners and followers. Why should people care about us, when we don't represent ourselves first as a community? We are the only ones that can make a difference, because the rest of the music industry doesn't care! We can get our panel, represent ourselves, network with friends old and new, and throw our own parties and events during WMC week.

I Remember When I Was One Of A Few Going To The Conference Supporting Freestyle Back In 94,95,96.
Who Else Was There????i Can Name Them On One Hand....i Admire The Ideal And Hope You Get More Peeps To Understand The Wmc And It's Benefits...
I Could Not Do This Then Because They Would Not Listen When Freestyle Was Playing...i Tried To Explain How We Need To Keep Putting The Name Out There So They Don't Forget About It...look At House And Techno Today...they Kept Doing And Attending These Events And Now We Are On The Opposite Side Of Them Now....

Im going to WMC regardless to share some product but I would love to lend and just show support if there will be a freestyle forum of sorts.

IT IS USUALLY HELD AROUND MARCH 22 - 28...

IT'S THE WINTER MUSIC CONFERENCE AND PEEPS COME FROM ALL OVER THE GLOBE TO PROMOTE,PARTY,MEET,SIGN DEALS,OR TO PERFORM, AND OH YEAH PARTY BY THE POOL.....
PROBLEM IS THAT THE WMC BECAME A GIANT INTERNATIONAL PLACE FOR ALL RAVERS AND IT LOST WHAT IT STANDS FOR BECAUSE OF THIS....THEN THE REST IS HISTORY :walk
 
WMC---Freestyle can survive!

Wazzzup fellas... Long time... You guys must spread the word about this possibility. People have to see this original post. I'm talking Willie, Nya and everyone else here if this is going to happen! I can make it happen, trust me! But I can't... and won't do it myself! Rummy and some of you know me and what I'm capable of pulling off. You have to make the peeps here aware of this happening.

Also be on the lookout as Philly is getting to shake some shhhhhh.... up! Lots of things brewing in the pot... and not the stuff you smoke either lol!!!

expect it to be around same time for 2004...they have not posted or sent info out yet on this event for 2004...when i get it i will let you know...
 
It will be cool to see a "real" Freestyle panel at the WMC. But this conference became extremely famous year after year for the other forms of Dance Music, not for Freestyle music unfortunately.
If there is a big panel this year, maybe I will come.

It's a start!

Well we're off and running. However, we still need more people to respond! I actually just thought of something that could really set us apart from the conference and make us stick out. We could host an entire day (or two) in a conference room, instead of just one hour, while the conference is going. We would be our own entity! We all know we need more than one hour to come up with some reasonable solutions about our music. We also can have a few showcases too. I'm going to need some help coordinating this plan, getting sponsors, etc...

What Do You Think Of A Broadcast From The Wmc...????that Should Draw Attention To Freestyle...live Broadcast Over The Net ....peeps Will Know What's Going On At Home And We Can Advertise Freestyle At The Wmc....maybe Have A Rep From Each Site Go And Represent Freestyle
