Greetings Freestylers!!

As some of yous/y'all can probably see, I just joined this awesome site back in February of this year. So if a similar post like this one I'm about to post has been posted before about Willie Valentine, my apologies, but again I'm new to this arena.
Anyway, speaking of Willie Valentine, is it just me or does this dude know his sh*t when it comes to producing, singing Freestyle? I mean damm, how many CDs does he have to bring out before he gets full recognition. Again, I've fallen a little behind the FREESTYLE times, but I just bought the DANCE MUSIC ARTISTIC STYLE CD and wow... I am impressed! I love this guy's style, he's freaking awesome. The song> My Lady a lone has got me hooked. Why doesn't he get more recognition? Or is it that I've truly fallen so behind the times and he already has?

Your absoluty right Willie has alway been regarded as one of the few long standing solid producers. He's been around a while now and knows how to bring the sounds Freestyle fans want to hear. I own most of his comps. Freestyle Parade 2k1 being one of my favorits.
 
I love Willie's style!!!!! I think I own all the Artistik cd's! :lol

As for why he doesn't get the recognition...I think it's because he's considered new school even though he was in the game back in the day. I could be wrong though so don't hold me to that! 🙂
 
Hi Ted. Yes... Freestyle Parade 2k1 believe it or not is on the way. I just order it the other day and based on your feed, can't wait to hear it. Dude, just when thought I had all of his songs, I realize he has another CD, another Valentine Production (AVP) as he likes to call it and bamm, there's still more & more either produced or sung by this guy. I'm very impressive with this artist.
 
hi Krystal. So you mean to tell me you have FREESTYLE PARADE 1? I only have it on tape, but when I found out Willie had his hands in this CD too, I turned around and ordered it. Esp. because of the nice songs compiled on that CD.

Thanks DJ DEE and everyone else. This thread brought on a huge smile from me... I havent done anything new in almost a year but I still have love for this music. And I hope it showed on the 30 cds or so I produced and released in the past. Sadly since my throat surgery back in november I have not been able to sing a note. I hope to be able to again someday. My doctor says I will have to get some speech therapy. Hope that works. Again thats for the kind words. You are 100% right Krystal I am considered new school since I didnt come out with anything until 1992. But I started my career in freestyle back in 1987.

Willie, I'm sorry to hear about your throat.

Keep the faith. Gioia from Expose` was told she may never sing again, and she'd just released a solo album, and doing shows.

I also love your stuff, as well as songs produced for Nyasia, Marisol, Synthia, and others.

I wish you good health, and success in the future.

P. S. hoping for a second Synthia Figueroa cd at one point. 😉

I'm a big fan of Willie's music and I will always murder his songs in my car by trying to sing them. I'm always looking foward to your music. It was apleasure meeting you and Freeze in Hartford last summer. Keep Rockin!
 
I love Willie Valentin's music,.. and try to get as many cd's as possible when i can and some of my fav's would be arititks freestlyle parade love them all.
 
Willie will always be da man."FREESTYLE PARADE VOL. II" still ranks right up there as one of the best albums/comps of all-time!! Even after all these years, I get totally stoked to this classic.

Wow! I got more than I expected here. I honestly didn't know Willie Valentine was even a member of this site and I thought I seen it all, but man, this takes the cake.

Willie, your response to this thread is another example of the man that you are. Sorry to hear about the throat, I can only imagine the pain you're going through. But I'm glad to hear you're alive & kicking. As far what the future holds, well, all I got to say is that you since made it this far bro, your life still has purpose, so hang in there.

Much luck I wish in your recovery and I will never forget you bro' for taking the time to reply to this post. Again, I'm impressed as a fan.
