I never thought this would be how I would make my first post, but this thread got me of my butt. 🙂
First of all, I have reading this Forum, and coming here for a VERY long time, and I just never posted, cause I mostly used it for keeping up with new songs, but I have to voice my feelings about this now. I have been a LONG TIME supporter of Tony Monaco, I'm a fan of yours Elissa, and all Canadian artists, and I'm not ignorant as to the history of this topic. I do NOT know DJ Constantine, or Tony Monaco at all, though not by my choice, but I know enough to realize that obviously it has become personal.
Elissa, why did you post, cause you're friends with Monaco?
It's the same thing with Evil Gino and Constantine, let Monaco come post for himself, and I'm sure he will, and that I want to see, is him state he has no problem with Con, but that it's beyond his control. In the best interests of the station AND the Rush, he should be there. It's not about him going and asking to be there, how disrespectful is that to have to go ask. That is a bunch of garbage. He plays tonnes of Freestyle all the time, he DJ's at two of the best Euro Freestyle clubs in the city, and THAT makes him one of the best DJ's in the city, in my opinion. You blackball a guy for giving the people what they want, new songs, and having the guts to play it. I had Ceres, Pandera, Nicole Brand, Unique, Freida, 3 Force before people anyone ever knew the names of these songs, and for that I respect him and what he does in the community.
Jade, you don't respect Con for not posting anymore?
Why do you respect Tony Monaco, for mentiong your site once a week on the radio, or is it when he comes by to advertise for his cd's and events. No offense Monaco, since I DO have EVERY one of your cd's, except World Cup Of Dance (NEVER saw it in stores, so don't think I don't supoport you, but the point must be made.)
We respect Monaco for everything he does, not cause he posts, and the same should go for Constantine. Do you respect Danny D, does he post? I will never speak a bad word about Dan, but again, the point is made. You respect him for what he does as a DJ, why not Con? Why respect Peter the Greek, does he post?
Con has always supported and broke in numerous of the artists that are coming to the Rush. He broke in the Sash first, Ian Van Dahl first, and to bring these artists over here due to their popularity, some credit must be given to Constantine. Why does he get slapped on the hand for playing those artists first and then neglected when he gets them exposure. His name never gets mentioned in any commercials for the LTA's until lately I've been noticing, but still he doesn't fit in into 103, cause he's not having his hand held, is that it?? If I want a Euro Freestyle Mix with some hip hop and latino I'll go to Berlin, which I do. When I want Dance Music only, I go to Plastique and I don't think he should be told what to play. We want to have a choice, and that includes havin little or no rnb and hip hop, If because he resists being a typical 103 DJ, then go on and continue disrespecting him by bringing in outside Dj's and leaving out one of your "own".
No disrespect to anyone, but I am tired of being asked to support the artists, and the scene, and the station, when there's such immaturity happening inside , amongst there own. He should have been invited, and it was disrespectul to leave him out. I agree that the Rush is for the artists obviously, but then why are there so many other Dj's there as well. Mario, Flipside, Peter The Greek, there isn't room for one more in a 50,000 square foot environment huh? Many people would be satisfied if the past was put aside, people can stand up and start new, and put bad feelings aside. If the mutual love of music can't bring the people at Z together again, then I have to agree that UPPER anagement really does not care about the listeners, just go on with your little childish vendetta's and continuing to think that all the listeners are ignorant, people that have been listening since '96, we should at LEAST be replied to! You guys are losing a lot of support from the people who have ALWAYS been there for you! Every Rush, the Freestyle Rush, New Year's Eve, at the clubs, and for god sakes, move on and put the past behind. I know he still won't be there, but is it too late to TRY to start geting along. People don't talk about other people for no reason, stop assuming or believing who bad mouthed who, and sit down, and resolve this. PLEASE, at least for the Freestyle lovers. All we want are our favourite 103 people to get along, and I want to say thanks to Scott Fox too, who is the only one seems to be able to get along with both sides, and for keeping Plastique amazing.
