yes, but the porno industry is a billion dollor one at that so they have plenty of money to do what ever they want, plus they own a couple of pay per views. im sure that we, the fans can devise a show but there is nothing to put on it! will we be doing an award show for music that came out 15 years ago? we would have to award "current" artists and there isnt much thats out there right now.
 
Oh, I agree that there is none to hand out now; but if this ever really did come to fruition, I would say alot of special mentioning and recognition would definitely be needed.

I can hear Bad Boy Joe do all of the announcing hehehe...

In addition, just to backtrack, I agree with Jason@atomic with regard to his inclusion of Freestyle in the Dance category (sad but true - it is a part of that style in accordance with mainstream music).

when they nominate songs they either give songs that were out 2 years ago or songs that just came out

I was trying to say that (wishfully thinking) Freestyle should have some type of recognition awards for out artists..

Will it happen - time will tell
 
but how can we have awards when i would vote for everyone.. there no one freestyle singer thats the best... THEY ALL ARE IT WOULD BE SOME HARD VOTES CAUSE I CANT IMAGINE VOTING WHOS BETTER

I can just imagine the long list of lifetime achievements, pionerr awards, trendsetters, fashion statements, ahhhhhh best DJ awards..

We would need a huge "where are they now" section and PI to find some of these folks..

Not even all of the record lables are around or have been subsidized to little entities..

The NY Music Awards were great in their time. I went the first year with Safire and LL Cool J winning a lot of stuff. I remember Brenda performing as well (probably with Mariah on backgrounds).

The problem with the Grammys is that they don't even really nominate dance songs in the Dance Music category, i.e. "Who Let The Dogs Out." Too many dance songs are released on independent labels who don't submit their material for qualification in the Grammy process.

All they have to do is sign up and pay the fee to become a voting member of NARRAS (the Grammy people)
