Well from what I read somewhere, they don't want the new pope to have such a long run like John Paul did. I personally was hoping for a less conservative pope.
 
remember pope john II picked most of the cardinals taht eclected the new one so you need to understand that most of the cardinals would be almost as conservative as he was

And I just saw on the news that he says:
  • "NO" to homosexuality (uh oh - Chuck is puttin' on the WAR PAINT!)
  • "NO" to Married Priests (they're gonna do it anyway, Mr. Pope - you can ask any little altar boy who has ended up on "Entertainment Tonight") and
  • "NO" to ROCK MUSIC! (no word on any reaction to a freestyle beat)....well he is human and those are his views, but I believe God is not judgemental in those ways
