Don't you hate when you buy a mix CD and the best song on the CD is edited down to like a minute or so and its usually the shortest song. DOH!!!! This seems to happen to me a lot for some reason 😕 <- that's steam rising from my head.

that and when they only put in the singing and lyrics with different background music! I like both mixes and songs,with mixes I like to listen and just guess which songs gonna be next and how they edit some of the songs, like when they mix up Victim Of Love by Sweet Sensation(for example), in higher speed with pounding beats and a its sounds so awesome! I'll dance my ass off!!!!!!!!😀

What sucks even more is when Cynthia's "Endless Nights" which its really 8 minutes long...is shortened down to 4 minutes. Ummm dont you get it? Its supposed to be "Endless" hence "Endless Nights" dont mess up the song by drastically shorten it down! Why everything gotta be 4 minutes? If freestyle songs kick a$$ wouldnt you like to get the full long flavor? And its not like fans are gonna be like "This song is too long...its boring me" please! Why can't great songs stay intact and gotta be drastically cut...and they sound short and week.

I think Im referring to the Tommy Boy "Endless Nights" version which sounds more like a taste lol

I would have to say mixes... especially those that can keep u singing alog with all the songs from start to finish.

You're right sometimes the best songs get cut short, it's like a tease.

well as for me i love mixes and the whole song but since i was in cleveland for awile i loved mixes better cause i got to hear a little of what was new in the freestyle seen.Then I heard the mix and the songs i liked i got the whole song.I love mixes though it does a car with a system good lol

i like the dj mixes. they keep an energy going if the dj is any good. but like Kenny, i also like to have the songs in their entirety too. but i really liked the budz mix cd & lisette's hit mix. those were the hottest i've heard in awhile.

I like a good mix, but there's nothing like having just that slice fromt he mix in a single form! A good example of that are most of the songs on the MicMac greatest hits CDs. I've heard 'em plenty of time in mixes, but they sure sound nice as stand-alone songs! 🙂

Mixed CDs are great only when they are done properly!

I would prefer non-mixed Cd but I have heard that the standard is to produce mixed CDs to prevent people from copying and distributing clean mp3's on the net. I guess that's a smart thing to do.

Who remembers the Bits & Pieces 12" that came out in the late 80's - early 90's... Damn those freestyle bit and pieces were the shitz.

I prefer the mixes because it's something special you can get out of CD's instead of mp3's. But like everyone else says, mixes do tend to cut off parts of songs.

i never thought of that, if that is the case that's a really smart thing for the artist to do. but Carlos Berrios ripped it on the Lisette mix. most songs are in their entirety but the ends are mixed in together. i would love to hear him do one for all of Cynthia's hits.
