What happened to this record company? Are they dead? They had some great songs and some terrible songs.

Yes, Tazmania is dead. From what I understand if was for financial reasons. I don't know the whole story but the amount of debt they were in had a direct impact. Their biggest mistake was the attempt to self distribute their level A album. They thought they could distribute more than Metropolitan and Hott could but they didn't even come close.

This is what I heard. A German company bought out Hot last year. I've yet to hear anything come out from them.

HOLD UP you guys are going way off. Tazmania death has nothing to do with Hot being bought. Tazmania left Hot and Metro before their death. I spoke to Anthony Ponzio specifically about what happened when it happened like 2 years ago. Anthony is an open door so I just called and asked him at home.
Anthony basically said he was calling it quits because they lost alot of money during the Level A release trying to distribute themselves. he also said he couldn't make any money through hott and metro because he did not sell enough pieces.
He also said he would be happy for any artist that moved on and was successful elsewhere but he was finished. The last idea thrown around was to produce Christian Music which was decided as a no also.
Rumor has it anthony was very indebt and had alot of outstanding bills. - This I did not here from Anthony

Your first mistake is saying "few people who you consider friends". I don't consider anyone a friend. The first mistake in life is to considered people friends that know nothing about you. My circle of friends doesn't contain one person in the freestyle business. I have many aquaintances and that is about it so they can punk me out however they want because I am sure I have done it to them in the past.
