-HMV, Sunrise or Music World
-I've found some pretty kool and rare stuff at second hand/replay stores
-and of course I order online...which is annoying cuz you gotta wait and pay a lot more
Many trips to the U.S.
Locally, I get them from a few pools for euro and dance.
HMV for popular dance...special orders @ HMV for harder to find stuff (ie. get the CAT number from the net and special order the cd @ the store)
I've still got quite a few good contacts for new and hard to find freestyle through the record store I get my "12's from! Just lately started buying the really new stuff offline...keeps me ahead of the game!
Hope it helps! Good luck!
BTW...sometimes I order a couple of the CD's if I know that they're hard to get in T.O. Depends on the review and the availability! It really helps when you know who the Canadian distributers are! Just a bit of searching and you can get some good stuff!
aside from the record pool service singles;I go online to purchase select cds. For domestic releases, Music world, a&b sound and HMV are my choices in either Calgary or Edmonton.
http://www.towerrecords.com is my fave for US (Mic Mac, Planet Hype, Ultra, Robbins, Jellybean, etc) and German releases (ZYX).
I also like http://www.amazon.de for the indie & european stuff from freestyle labels like future sound (the officer, sandro cappello, etc), flic flac (ceres, mc g gabriel, etc) and miami bass records (100% freestyle series, etc).
i'm usually at music world @ square 1, excellent stock of dance for such a little store.
if not i go to square 1's hmv which has a separate room for dance (i dont know if all the other hmv's have those rooms).
