good to hear it from the source....as for me...i love that cd...i think that it is slightly under-rated since the quality is kinda bad...and the tracks could use some work in order for it to sound better....but besides that...those songs are GOLD....

MKG had a different sound...not so hard...yet catchy...and made u wanna dance...then again Freestyle should make you move...so unless u have no rhythm i seriously would have a hard time agreeing with the not dancing part...

sebastian was awesome in this cd..and although i dont think he did much after that...those few songs make him a legend in the freestyle world...

Thank you so much for that comment PUTANA, I couldn't agree with you more, let me just say in my defense and MKG's, it's true we were working out of his apartment and money was tight, we did the best we could and worked very long hours, it's insulting to me to find out that DENINE would just come and try to take credit for something I worked so hard on (no disrespect to Denine), but Tear Shed is MINE!!! remember now, I was 15 at the time, so I sounded like a little girl and it was very hard for me, there were a lot of tear shedding in the studio :cheer , but I guarantee I WILL BLOW YOUR MINDS TODAY, SO MKG WHERE EVER YOU ARE......come on out so we can show these people what we've been up to. I think it's time for something new, don't you?????

OK, OK, WHAT CD HAS "TEARS SHED" ON IT, CAUSE I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE?
I LOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVE THAT SONG. I HAD A REMIX OF IT, BUT SOMEONE STOLE MY RADIO IN CAR AND IT HAD THE CD IN IT :bangbang

I give it a thumbs up!! For starters I think all of Sebastians songs kick ass especially "the nights we shared" even though it's not the club version .Another one i like is Darma's "let's take our time boy" and of course the 100% pure freestyle track "Is it Real" by Xpassion!!

"The nights we shared I'll always remember
you really cared ,your love was so tender
what went wrong, you said that you loved me
I wonder where you are
can you be thinking of me..my love?"

Emery's Tear Shed

If your looking for a copy of that song, I can help you out, just let me know, I still have a few copies, I even have them on vinyl, can you imagine that. I don't even have a record player, do they still make those???

I believe Denine's version of Tear Shed is on the MKG & Friends album. I only have my version.

Yo!! MKG where u at!!!

It's legally for anyone to do a cover song (which that is what Denine did with Adam) but her version did no justice compared to our version (this was told to me from everyone and not because I produced the original, but ours was SLAMMIN).. Emery is right, the song was done in my apartment with a limited budget and Denine's had a budget.

Emery, Denine did like the original (I never meet her but was told) and she did a cover of "Tear Shed" but did not take any credit for the song as the freestyle world knows the deal..

Maybe we should do a double cover..LOL.. Will it sound better, HELL YEAH.. Will it be the same, PROBABLY NOT as the off key version will always be a classic..

.....I agree that it is a classic. But I feel that your original version of Tearshed had no life in it. It was a dead track. If anything Denine and Adam did a better job in that. Made it more funky. Made it more of a dancey, underground tune.

Sebastion, MKG and Freinds, the worst CD I ever purchased. I swear that album was made on a 4 track recorder.

PMX

WOW.. Done on 4 tracks?? The CD was a 5 star rating on Street Sound Mag. Great reviews.. I don't knock you for your opinion, but you need to clean the wax out of your ears.. I'm not saying it was the BEST CD, but to say it was the worst. I'm sure 99.% of freestylers will disagree with your statement..

Hey, when you only have a small budget (or no budget) to work with, you have to do what I did, record at my studio apartment (at the time) and STILL HAVE TRUE FREESTLE CLASSICS TIL THIS DAY..

Adam had a $$$$$ budget and there was nothing original as it was a cover. I could make a cover and make it sound better, but would it be better??

If you were to ask DJ's like Little Louie Vega or David Morales who LOVED and played Tear Shed in 1018 and Heart Trob back in the days which version would they play, they would say the original.. It was true latin hip hop which was the stlye in 1988.. Adam used everything I did but changed up the drum track which made it new school freestlye.. I did recieve much feedback on the Denine version and every sigle person (artist, producers, DJ's) told me why I let them do ruin a good song.. I said it was not up to me as anyone coud do a cover to a song.. I do respect you comment and I don't take it to heart.

I thought I heard an echo about 3 x....

regardless- ya'll are around now...start kickin ass!!!!!

Sorry for the typos as I'm writing on my laptop and miss a few keys..LOL

Hi Putana,

Damn, I'm on a roll today :freak

Let me share some light on your questions..

Yes, MKG stands for Michael Kidd Gomez

Metro and adam started with this new group and felt if they used MKG feat. (I forgot the groups name, lol... sorry) that they would get a better response. I had nothing to do with the group or production, they just borrowed my name..

I'm BACK

I'm a big fan of Metropolitan old skool tracks and I have 3 records from an artist calling him/herself to be MKG.

1st of all where is he/she?

2nd of all I thought MKG was Michael Kidd Gomez, yet MKG's 3rd record was "I'll Never Be The Same" & Michael K. G.'s name is nowhere in site as producer, mixer, etc., only Adam Marano's name shows up. So what's up with that? 😕

This is probably a complicated thread for those who don't know what I'm talking about, but if anyone DOES know, shed some light for me!

Bottom line...where is MKG??? Someone's gotta know!

Thanks,
putana2002
