I'm a big fan of Metropolitan old skool tracks and I have 3 records from an artist calling him/herself to be MKG.

1st of all where is he/she?

2nd of all I thought MKG was Michael Kidd Gomez, yet MKG's 3rd record was "I'll Never Be The Same" & Michael K. G.'s name is nowhere in site as producer, mixer, etc., only Adam Marano's name shows up. So what's up with that? 😕

This is probably a complicated thread for those who don't know what I'm talking about, but if anyone DOES know, shed some light for me!

Bottom line...where is MKG??? Someone's gotta know!

Thanks,

...

Sebastion, MKG and Freinds, the worst CD I ever purchased. I swear that album was made on a 4 track recorder.

Really??? Well, I have the 12" singles of both Sebastian & MKG individually so I didn't see a point in buying the CD. Is it just the quality of the CD is bad or the songs just sucked to U? Hey, everyone's entitled to an opinion (My girl hates the singer on "TearShed"), but I just wanna know.....

Where R they now?

...

I hated the CD musically. It was missing so much musically it was pathetic. You can't dance to the cd, you can't drive to the cd or you will fall asleep. The CD is on the edge of accapella. Granted not every song is lacking music but I am very glad I managed to by the cd for only $7.00.

I basically put that CD on the shelve right after I bought it and didn't touch it for years until about 2 weeks ago. It is ironic I have a chance to post about this cd. I hated this cd when I bought it and I hated it when I listened to it 2 weeks ago.

when i first bought sebastian mkg and friends i REALLY liked it. but over the years i got tired of it. i dont listen to it anymore but i still think some of the songs off the cd were good.
i guess it depends on what OTHER CDs ur comparing it to. of course its not the BEST compilation out there. but id rate it better than A LOT of the freestyle thats out.
i would bust out my MKG cd again before id EVER waste my time with or pay for ish like what E.L.I., detour, or countless other shameful "labels" try to pass off as music.

hmmm

In my opinion, this comp is great. But it's true that the CD hasn't been well recorded.

I'm a big fan of MKG's tracks anyway. 🙂

Primax, I suggest you to sell your CD to Putana!!!

See ya guys.

Francis

You summed it up best Putana2002. Shipping is a hassle! That is why it has been put to rest on a shelve for eternity.

MKG = Michael Kidd Gomez Is Living In Upstate NY Right Now...He Is Not Doing Much In The Freestyle Field Anymore. He Hasn't Stopped though.
Anything Comming Out In The Future From him? Definately...But Anytime Soon? I Don't Know And Neither Does He.
PRIMAX = lmao...I Hear What Ur Sayin About The Compilation Man....But...Its Old Skool Man..The Guy Was Doin It Out of His House * Like Most Labels * Back Then,Independant People Didnt Have The Best Of The Best Equip...So I Guess U Gotta Look At It Like That....And Those Songs Are Classics. Im Sorry man..U Can't Argue On That :I
Peace....

Alright Elear!....

A fellow fan. Nice to see more than just me out there! Thanks for the 411 on MKG. True, the quality wasn't all that great, but I still like a lot of those tunes anyhow. 'TearShed' & 'U Can't Fight Love' still kick *ss in my book!

Denine's remake of 'Tearshed' didn't even come close to the original.....y se acabo!

MKG

For what I know, MKG is out of the Freestyle business. Definitively.

He offers his services as an engineer through his recording studio.

I don't know if his email is always available but you can email him at: MkgEnt@aol.com

I don't sell my CD... I love it too much contrarly to Primax! Just kidding!!! It's also a rare piece because it is apparently not available anymore at Metro. Nevertheless, I suggest you to contact Metro: metro@mars.superlink.net

Hope that helps!!!

Take care.

Francis

MKG AND FRIENDS

I could sit here and type the whole story of MKG and all the artists that performed on his tracks, but, if you don't already know then it's too late and not worth it now!

Anyone who doesn't like ALL the tracks on that compilation needs to go back and start over because that is one of the best old school freestyle comps. ever! Come On people! Tearshed, Can't Fight Love, All of Sebastians Hits, Darma, 2X -TREME! That cd is a Treasure!

Thanks Francis & Freestyle Vic
Your info is greatly appreciated!

Now Vic babe! U say U know a lot of the back story! Why don't U go ahead & tell me. As a big fan of his & the artists he worked with, I (& perhaps others at CF) would really like to know some back story! If U prefer, PM me if U wish! Really, inquiring minds want to know!

it just amazes me how some people who claim to be freestyle supporters can verbally attack the roots of the music.............how can a true freestyle fan not appreciate this cd.....but thanks for the amusement everytime i read somethin like this i just sit here and laugh at the ignorance of some "freestyle" fans .........

tearshed is a classic ..no matter how off key emery's vocals are or how bad the production was..........and its one of my fav songs.......

I'm with U Monarico! Glad to see more fans of MKG & pals!

To this day, one of my fav freestyle singers remains Sebastian!! I've heard everything to "he's singing R&B" to "He's not singing at all". MKG produced his 1st track ("Night We Shared" if I'm not mistaken) & that track rocks the house!

I still have that CD but it skips now *sniffle*

& yeah the vocals are way offkey on Tearshed but its still a classic. I've had that 12" since I was what like 12 or 13? 🙂

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND TEARS SHED THE 2000 REMIXES? PREFERABLY ON MP3?

Who is MKG?? I know who he is

:fkinaman So you wanna know who is MKG, well your right about his full name, which is Michael "Kidd" Gomez, where he is?? that I would like to know myself, he was the producer of Tear Shed, and I was the singer. It was a group that he and I put together back in the late 80's, I was 15 at the time (very young) and there was also a 3rd girl, but she didn't sing on the track only myself. However Tear Shed was the only track I worked on with Mr.Gomez, so sorry I can't answer your question about the other tracks. If you have any other questions you can send me an email at Emery24@optonline.net.

Thank you so much for that comment PUTANA, I couldn't agree with you more, let me just say in my defense and MKG's, it's true we were working out of his apartment and money was tight, we did the best we could and worked very long hours, it's insulting to me to find out that DENINE would just come and try to take credit for something I worked so hard on (no disrespect to Denine), but Tear Shed is MINE!!! remember now, I was 15 at the time, so I sounded like a little girl and it was very hard for me, there were a lot of tear shedding in the studio :cheer , but I guarantee I WILL BLOW YOUR MINDS TODAY, SO MKG WHERE EVER YOU ARE......come on out so we can show these people what we've been up to. I think it's time for something new, don't you?????
