ok me freind order the cd dos records freestyle the next level 2 a few days back but never got her cd so whats up with that i heard a few people never got theres to so where did those missing cd go-----------> hope i can get this answer
djlos5, check this out...
i pre-ordered that last march and STILL have not received the cd. meanwhile, the money order i had sent was cashed long, long, ago.
so last july 4, i had emailed pete othman/dos records for an explanation, to which i never even received a reply. i then emailed him a 2nd time on august 2, in a not so pleasant manner, demanding the cd or a refund. so i finally get a response from pete, with him saying that they were behind on the cd, and that it should be released in late september of 2004. he apologized for the delay and said he would send me some music in good faith (which btw, i never received anything).
well, here it is now february 2005 and still no cd. on their website, they now have the cd listed as an early spring 2005 release. see link. http://dosrecords.com/id18.html
hmmm...why should anyone believe him? they went from a march 2004 release to a july 2004 release to a september 2004 release to now supposedly a late march/early april 2005 date. what's next, a december 2005 release date? a may 2006 date? simply ridiculous!
this is not a good way to run a business. why even have people pre-order something that wasn't even going to be released for another year or so, if at all? maybe dos records should finish a product before making it "available" for purchase.
to make them even look more unprofessional, they do not respond to customers' emails or even keep them up-to-date on the status of their purchase. tsk.tsk.
fortunately for pete, i am not pursuing legal action. it's not worth the hassle over
$16.49 (the price of the cd at the time). evidently, he seems to need the $$$ more than i do.
btw, here's the thread of other folks who didn't get their cd either...
So true, he did email back last year about the release was post poned and the shipment was on the way.Im still waiting for my cd too.I stopped pre-ordering from anything Freestyle, it's too risky or it takes too long.Until an official release and the cd is available, I will order it.So far the only pre-order I do is for artists like Jennifer Lopez, which I know I will get the product right on time.
frankie, at the time i ordered the cd, it was supposed to have been released shortly after. there is no way i would've pre-ordered , if i would've known (beforehand) that the cd wouldn't be released until months, let alone a year later.
nice way for dos records to gain fan support. at this point, they cannot be trusted.
hey guys, sorry about all delays... D.O.S. 2 is adding one last song to the compilation, it is from a very respectable name in the business, yes this is taking so much longer than expected...the truth is.....you are getting a double cd compilation and I do not want to have any space left over....giving you all the best for you purchase...everytime I think the c.d. is done...another artist is added last minute....and it has happened 5x since the projected release, I am proud to have these artists added to the compilation and I do apoligize 100x over for the over run delays...trust me, I am not taking anyone for their money, for those who know me, they can reassure you on this. Please feel free to email me @ DOSrecords@aol.com to personally discuss this. This c.d. will be released VERY soon and we will be showcasing at various clubs and release parties.....please check the website www.DOSrecords.com for updates.....thank you..Pete
thanks for the update (FINALLY)! it's not good to order something, never receive it , and not hear anything from the seller everytime you try to contact them.
as for your website, it's not always up-to-date. believe me, i check in regularly, and some of the info is outdated.
pete, you DO need to remember your paying customers. you should be notifying us by email regularly, to let us know what's going on with the project. you can't leave us hanging like that. remember , you and the recording artists need our support. ($$$)
we, the buying customers, are just as important as the artists you work with.
to touch up on the thread, the pre-oreder was intitially a combo order discount when purchased with thre Nick Colon "Believe" cd......and with that the price was VERY discounted when orederd with the album, it wasnt a "oh order this cd by itself now just to pre-order it" I offered it a great price, and I still do....this is not a business scam nor are we looking to screw anyone for money, it's quite the opposite, we are giving MORE for the money, and for those who have bad feelings, I do apologize...you are entitled to your opinions the way you interprate the situation. We are in no way being neglegant nor maliscious to our paying customers. For those of you who wish to have the cd the way it is now, I will gladly send u what we have and then send you the finished product, feel free to ask for it....DOSrecords@aol.com.....
hey you guys u cant beat that ... what pete has offered... i mean he is trying to take care of you guys.. hey pete i'll be waiting for the finish product...
pete,
just to let you know, my order at the time was strictly just for that "next phase" cd, not a "discounted" combo pkg w/the nick colon cd.
will you not recognize that the customer service was lacking on your part? why can't you just admit that you did a poor job in letting your customers know what was going on. let's be honest here, you are in now "damage control" mode. lol
while i don't necessarily think you have a scam going, i do think you should operate your business (customer relations) in a much more professional way.
btw, as enigma posted earlier, why even accept $ for a product that wasn't finished? honestly, i don't even see how could've expected people to buy a product from you and wait at least a year to receive it? that's totally insane!
hearsay, i don't think you are getting the clear picture. let's put it this way... have YOU ever ordered something (paid in full), and had to wait a whole year just to receive it? i'm sure the answer is no. just imagine you bought and paid in full for a mp3 player from circuit city via online. but wait, circuit city never delivers the mp3 player to you, after a year gone by, nor lets you know what is going on. how would you react? hmmm... i'm sure you wouldn't even wait more than 2 weeks to go ballistic! lol
keep in mind, if pete had actually informed us of the situation at hand, there wouldn't be this mess that we have right now.
and no , am i supposed to feel like am being "taken care" of (as you put it)? i don't think so.
