what is your all time fav freestyle concert that u have gone to???

for me...

Cameo Theater - Nov of 96 or 97 not sure exact year...

It was Cynthia, Johnny O and George Lamond. I got to hang out with them and talk to them.

Followed closely by jammin johnnys birthday party the following jan.
he had debbie deb, cynthia, johnny o, brenda k star, bayside boys and many others.

In sept of 1989. I went to see The Cover Girls. I don't if it was The Cap Center(now days USAirways Arena) of Constitution Hall. But anyway, That was a great show. I got to meet Caroline Jackson in person. Whoa, she was a beauty !!🙂
 
I haven't gone too a whole lot of FREESTYLE concerts, but one I remember vividly that stands out was a BOOMS DAY here in Tampa around '92 or '93.

It was outdoors, facing Tampa Bay & I saw the likes of Linear, Timmy T (plus his dancers that put on their OWN breakdancing show) & Lissete Melendez! the show was even hosted by Downtown Julie Brown (I dunno if U guys remember her, she was a VJ on MTV) Man, what a show!!! A good memory! 🙂
 
My favorite show was the Freestyle reunion at EXIT, I think it was 2 years ago.It was the best night/morning LoL. That was the first time I saw TKA perform :1luv. It was the first time I saw any of them perform, that was my first freestyle show 😛

1st concert ever was a Freestyle concert at Westbury in L.I. (either '89 or'90)
It was a birthday gift..I saw George Lamond, Stevie B, TKA, Brenda K Starr, Sweet Sensation and After Shock..(remember them...?)
That was awesome concert...
There was also a Club on 233rd in the Bronx called ACT III in the Tropics..they would have a "Teen Night" every other weekend
I've seen Tonasia, Joey Kidd, George Lamond, Judy Torres, Fascination, & MOre, Cynthia, Betina, Coro, Soave...the list goes on.
those were the days....

THIS LAST CONCERT AT BLIS THOUGH....WAS AWESOME & 1 OF MY FAVORITES B/C IT TOOK ME BACK TO MY TEENS...PLUS I GOT TO SEE LIL SUZY

OOps I didn't mean KTU, I meant Hot 97. I just been so long since they were a freestyle station.....I'm used to saying KTU. Well, wait a minute.. Didn't 97 replace KTU? I remember the Latin Rascals playing club music in an afternoon battle against the animal and Jeannie Hopper
 
lol.....i understand! i knew you meant HOT 97! was the concert on long island at the westbury music fair? i remember that one but i didnt attend. they always have great acts there.

KTU died, it was replaced by K-ROCK. HOT 97 (HOT 103) was a new station.

Summer of 2001

😀 The Philly show (Freestyle Rush) this past summer with Stephanie Marano, Freeze, CORO, Lil Suzy, Angel & The Cover Girls, Willie Valentin, Synthia Figueroa (did I speel it right?), TKA, and the finale was STEVIE B!!

It was my first BIG freestyle show except for seeing Denine & Collage,
Lil Suzy, and Lisa Lisa, and Expose back in the 80's.

I tell ya it was one hell of a show! I got to meet alot of the artists, have pics taken of them during the show and after, I got to buy Willie's new cds, AND meet him & Synthia, and I got to meet and talk to Stevie B (I ran out of film by then though 🙁 )I was in FREESTYLE HEAVEN!!

Hey Kenny Guido the concert was at Lamours East but I did go to one at Westbury~ That was great too. There were always alot of 20 group shows those were the only nights pormoters could get away with big tickets, no guests list and ladies weren't in free! They needed to pay for the acts😡
 
JEN...Im with you on Beatstock! I was there and I had the time of my life!!! Got to see so many of my fave freestyle acts plus so many others from the 70's and 90's. I got a bad sunburn but it was worth it!!!

2 concerts stick out to me, so close I'll call it a tie...
Tie:
Wild 94.9 Cinco de Mayo concert, San Jose, CA in the mid 90's...
Angelina, Jocelyn Enriquez, Jossette, Spanish Fly, Buffy, (I think they also had Yolanda, but I'm not sure if I saw her there or somewhere else, my memory is bad), then they also had To Kool Chris, and I think Reel 2 Reel, or maybe it was someone else (again bad memory). I might have forgotten an artist or two. But anyway, what a lineup they had, and thousands of people watching, you couldn't see the end of the people.

Tie:
Freestyle Concert at Great America, San Jose area, CA in 2001...
Stevie B, Alvendia, Lisa Lisa, Judy Torres, what a great lineup again, 7000+ people there, young and old, many people singing along to the songs.

Overall I had more fun at the second concert, just the atmosphere, who I was with, and the memories and emotion that this concert brought out.
I loved the new school lineup in the first concert though, so many great artists at once.
 
Hot Wheels, Six Flags, Hialeah Park & The Haunted House at MetroZoo....

...among others. I have to admit that, while I never went to Decos, 1235, Facade, Casanova nor Rick's Bar, THE GREATEST FS concert I ever went to was Stevie B at Club Boca in 99, I believe. Words wouldn't do the show justice!!!! Second is George Lamond at Emerald City!! Third is Coro/Cynthia at Alcazaba!!!

I miss these acts so much!!!! The memories, the passion and all that comes with our music!!
