What's wrong with mothers?

I'm watching a show now & I know it's fake on the show but this does happen alot in real life when a woman gets involved with a man & the man becomes attracted to the womans daughter & tries to hit on her. But when the daughter goes & tells her mother..she doesnt believe the daughter & takes sides with the guy. What is it....the sex?..money? That can make a woman choose a man over her own child

Unfortunately, what happens alot of times is a mother becomes resentful of their kids and come to blame them for certain things. Maybe an early pregnancy caused them to get married young and that feeling that they missed out on something. I've heard of a few cases like this where something happened to the child and the mom wouldn't beleive them, too many times it's their partner, and they choose to beleive the partner over their own child. I've seen cases of mother's who sleep with their kid's partner. In an ideal world, all mothers know how to cherish their children, but that doesn't always happen...something I know about first hand.

I don't understand the whole thing really....I could never choose anyone over my kids and if they told me something I could never just brush it off as nothing I don't see how ppl could do that and then call themselves a parent.
