The reason people say Synthia Fifueroa is west coast is because her sound is HOT,She is LATINA,Popular and Gets radio airplay on popular westcoast stations because Freestyle is alot more sucessful on the westcoast than on the eastcoast as far as concert shows,radio airplay and media coverage because the westcoas is such a Latino heavy populated place on the estcoast New York is a hot bed for Freestyle,the northeast and a few cities in florida but for the most part Freestyle is dead on the east coast because it's not popular outside of those places.When popular Latino freestyle artist comes and blows up big time in popularity people assum it's west coast because since the death of Freestyle on the eastcoast the popular mainstream freestyle from the westcoast is what dominates on national radio and popular clubs nationwide,Look at the huge sucesss of ANGELINA HER FREESTYLE WA NOMINATED FOR A BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARD.SF Spanish Fly had two top 40 HITS,AN ALBUM ON THE bILLBOARD 200 AND ONE THE BIGGEST FREESTLYE HITS EVER "TREASURE OF MY HEART" and JOCELYN ENRIQUEZ "Jocelyn" another Billboard top 200 album and countles Billboard Hot 100 hits plus two top 40 hits and MTV airplay of her video "A Little Bit Of Extacy".The east coast came strong with popular crossover music from Rockell,Collage,Cynthia,George Lamond and now Synthia Figueroa but for the last 10 years the west coast movement has taken the spotlight on a national level and has kept Freestyle alive nationwide and worldwide with their strong sales,look at Stevie B he went on to have sucess in the west coast and revive his career and superstars Cynthia and Johhny O are all on Thump records with their greatest hits in every record store in the country,look at all the Latino entertainement magazines in Spanish and English where west coast freestyle is what advertises and has alot of eastcoast freestyle being rereleased on west coast labels aswell as new music.The westcoast has a popular show where Freestyle is seen on a national level on THUMP TV and even the internet for years Planet Hype,Upstairs records and Thump records were the most popular consumer freestyle sites until ClubFreestyle came along and united both coasts once gain.People just assume that Latino dance music artists that are popular and sound good are from the west coast because the west coast until recently was where all the popular quality freestyle was comming from while the eastcoast had lots of failure freestyle releases and cheesey freestyle that brought freestyle down in the fisrt place.I know that has completely changed with the great popular selling releases from the Latin Explosion albums by Cynthia,George Lamond,Synthia Figueroa,The new Artistik,Bad Boy Joe,the new Safire and the new TKA has brought eastcoast Freestyle to the top of the dance music charts and got it big national attention but the stereotype about crappy eastcoast failure freestyle from Tazmania,Viper Metropolitan and Philly freestyle and coontless loser labels gave it a bad name only Artistik,Timber/TommyBoy,Robbins were the labels that kept eastcoast Freestyle alive and brought it back to the top of the national dance charts however theres more work to be done until people erase the theory that Latinos that are popular and sing freestyle are all Chicano/Mexican Americans and from the west coast.GOD Bless,Omar 😉
