hey everyone how's it going Toronto Gino here, i was wondering what was the first Freestyle song that you all heard that got you to start listening to Freestyle, for me it was Show me by the cover girls i heard the song about 13 or 14 years ago and it became my favourite song, so from that day on i have never stoped listening to freestyle.
now how about you all which song was it for you?

Well actually me was Bad of the heart by George Lamond, If am not mistaken it came out about 20 years ago a little less or more and I was about 5 or 6. I grew up in the projects in queens and at that time everyone and there Mom was a DJ. LOL.

I didn't know what Freestyle was back when I was like 6 years old. But for me, the first few songs that started everything for me was:

Shannon's "Let The Music Play"
John Rocca's "I.O.U"
Lisa Lisa's "I Wonder If I Take You Home" and "Can You Feel The Beat"

Then when I moved to the Miami area, Freestyle was area!

My very first record/single was Noel's "Silent Morning".

:rasta I cant really remember .... but i know ive loved it since the begining. :rasta

If I can remember right, it was X-Ray vision by TKA, I was at a club in Tijuana, Mexico. That was a great dance song back in the day.

the exact first I cant remember but one of the firsts...."One Way Love'..TKA and "Summertime" Nocera

Same here. I don't remember either, but it had to be during my childhood days...I was always into the 80's in particular then. Such as Trinere's "I'll be all you ever need" or Exposé's "Come Go With Me" :listen

I've always liked freestyle. When I was a kid it was the only music that was on the radio. I loved them all especially Dream Boy/Dream Girl, Take Me As I Am, Tears May Fall. Then when Freestyle started fading out I heard In A Dream by Rockell and instantly became a fan again. My favorite all time song is Stand by Your Lover by Coro. Much Love. -Lex

What Is Freestyle?!?!?!?!?

See, once again. What the (bleep) is FREESTYLE really?

Is it NOT freestyle 'cuz it wasn't sung by a latino from NYC or Miami?

The sound and "vibe" that I eventually learned to call "freestyle" I encountered for the first time in the Human League song (beats, electro-pop, synthesizers, etc.).

Perhaps I should say JOHNNY O. instead? or George Lamond?
Then MAYBE it'll be freestyle. Am I limited to the Mic-Mac era?

PLEASE tell me something about that song that is NOT freestyle.

I could go on and on but I'll stop now.

Peace!

As far me, I must of been in Elementary school, listening to "Only in the night" - Voices in Fashion, I must of played that song 40 times that day during a field trip. 🙂
