Freestyle was just getting its start when I heard this song..it's a ballad and I may have been 4 or 5...I don't know the artist just the chorus:

Originally, Stacey Latislaw. But that was back in the late 70's...there may have been a remake by someone else.

I believe an artist named Krista did a remake of this about 2 years ago and its named "Let me be your angel" . I had no idea it was a remake til now. What an awesome song I have it on 12".
 
Stacey Lattisaw did magic with that track! I remember my parents rockin' that shit in the green Pinto back in like 79, 80. That's like one of my FAVORITE tracks....

Get out!! I hope it's still available...I guess I would have to go to a vintage-type record store to get the original though.
 
You boys gotta hear that Latislaw version. The best time too hear that song is when you're slowdancing at a house party.....Oh, wait a minute, what am I saying....the new Hip Hop & Raeggeton generation don't know nothin' about that. When I was a shorty, house parties included slow danicing too...it wasn't all about raising the roof.....we had to get some grinding in there too you know? LOL

Before y'all jump on me, I was just joking about today's generation not knowing about slowdancing at house parties.......(or was I?)

I just slow danced at my sister's wedding Saturday night. And danced some freestyle, reggaeton, salsa , merengue, and high energy all in one night. Total latino party. I don't see nothing wrong with a little bump n' grind!!!!!
 
oh Stacy Lattisaw's version was the best!!!!! I was about 10 when it came out!!! she had a bunch of other great songs too..... "Love On A Two Way Street" and "Attack Of The Name Game" and didn't she sing "Miracles"..... 🙂
 
The Very Best of Stacy Lattisaw is out on Rhino Records. It includes all her hits.
 
Oh and by the way, Let Me Be Your Angel was remade a yr or so ago by Tiffany Evans, who won Star Search. KTU played it a lot. Tiffany did a beautiful job with it...really sounded like the original!
