Was just wondering what everyone did today for 9/11. I was at the Ground Zero site this morning with 5 other people from my company who went over last year. It was very emotional. I honestly don't think I can cry anymore. After the ceremony and as peoplewere leaving, we saw Rudy Guliani and he thanked us again for our help last year as well as coming over today. Hearing all the names read of all those lost was very moving and then being allowed down into the pit really got me. I know I have said this in another thread, but I pray for everyone who lost loved ones, family and friends.

My friends and I left Jersey today at 7am to go to Ground Zero. I refused to bring a camera. My friends took theirs. We got to the police barracade (2 blocks from Ground Zero) and I let my friends walk off and stayed by myself with my thoughts. We were there to hear bagpipers and the bells at the time the first plane hit.

After that, we went to Battery Park where the Police Memorial was. The names of officers lost on 9/11 were engraved on the wall, and we looked at the the pics, flowers, and notes left behind by family members of the police or firemen lost that day. This is where I lost it. I just had tears streaming down my face. As we started walking around, it was the time that the second tower fell, and all the boats/ferries on the water crouded together and started blowing their horns at the same time.

After that we went to where the president was to talk today, and we saw the globe that was found at Ground Zero.

I was very glad that the general public was unable to get to the site of Ground Zero until 7:30 tonight. After everything that they've been through, the families deserved that private time.

I had to work today! Talk about NOT wanting to be there. :crap

All day long I had these scenes running through my head of what happened one year ago today! Several times today I had to close myself up in my office because I just could not deal with anyone. I've said many prayers today and have lit several candles for all those that were lost and their families.
