ok we all heard people say on this site---you should do your part for freestyle music . atleast i have so what can i do to promote it to the younger generation . what do we change, the format of the music or the arrangement of the song .hip hop it up or throw a reggaeton beat in the back over lyrics. how do we keep it fresh and new-how do we keep people interested let me know ?i would give my two cents in but i rather hear yours.

I think it may be hard to add freestyle to hip/hop but it may be easier to add it to say like Reggaeton,... slightly change the format at little to make it more becoming to the younger generation since there the one who will carry it on it the future as we have done our self with the classics,. but done change to the point where it has lost it's roots. & reason I say use reggaeton as leverage is because it's being more accepted and since it's pretty much new to the states they are more willing to hear different formats of it. Just my opinion but who really knows.

this is a tough subject for those who dont know music bussiness

now this is not directed at you hitman but its just the common cop out phraes i see over and over.which you bring up here about "not knowing the biz" ...
as to why freestyle is nothing more then nostalgia and die hard fans who are more religious and faithful about its return then the return of christ....

"its because no promotion..no marketing its the radio stations...its the lack of unity..greedy producers.. all that!! its everyone elses fault!!"

now these are in fact contributing factors however any other form of music has the same obstacles..its not a unique factor

here is a reality check " a hit is a hit is a hit!!" if a song is really good..if its quality ..if it makes people say "dam whats that!! and press rewind....then someone will want to invest sign a deal..put promotion and time and stand behind it .. doesnt matter what type of music ..be it freestyle or not...... there really arent that many hits nowadays from the world of freestyle ... to be quite frank I feel about only 20% of anything new is worth listening to alot of it really sucks big time and when i hear some songs come out i think to myself (did these people actually set up in a studio somwhere pat each other on the back and say "yeah kid this is the shit wait till they get a load of us"!!) as i fling the CD out my window driving down the expressway.... i dont really see in these types of numerous threads or debates anyone really just saying that outright ..sugarcoating alot and indirects to not hurt peoples or artist feelings... now i love my freestyle but I can admit alot of the music in the category of music which brings us here in a common bond is horrible... we fans do what we can to support the artist by going to the few shows that actually dont wind up being canceled..by buying cds that are actually released for purchase after months or years of waiting.... in turn the "artist" (or those who claim to be "artist" because someone in the family told them they could sing well in the shower) need to step up the game...stop the remixes.. stop the same old beats..the same old themes..(what hapened everyone forgot how to write new material?? be creative?? or is it laziness??) and for the love of god and everything holy RETIRE THE GODDAM PLANET ROCK BREAKBEAT LOOP!!!

now i understand as well as millions of other fans do "THE INDUSTRY" is not easy..but like any other biz you gotta have something worth selling from the get go..if its good enough it will sell itself...

what can we do to help freestyle?? stop settling dont get excited over "a new freestyle song" just because its labeled "freestyle" but makes your ears bleed

demand talent..demand professional production..demand the very best

it is a world of supply and demand

you keep demanding and the dark evil empire of "THE INDUSTRY" may listen

before any of that could happen quality tracks must manifest and excuses must evaporate

hitman as much as you may want to help it, the truth is it will never be what it once was, it will NEVER get there again..everyone talks and talks and talks i've yet to see one motha fuqa it .they need to stop talking all the shit, put your beats where your mouth is and stop fakin the funk. everyone has thier opinion and not one person has yet to do anything about it. I like that you want to help it along, but only a miracle will help this. 🙂

and with that said Nelson my man we shall see you on the 14th!..LOLOL by the way about that hit list....LFMAOOO!

WOW THIS IS DEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That Is The Facts I Like To Put in My 2 Cents But Its Late I Need To Go To Bed........

so true. It cost money to put this music out..and it cost more money to get it heard. The only people paying this money are the people making it and putting it out, In hopes to at least break even after the CD is compleate. So many complaints , So many Negitive comments but yet so little people trying to deliver and make a difference. People scream they want freestyle, then when they get it, Its not new school enough or its not old school enough. The vocals aint there or the sound quality sounds wack. I mean nothings ever good enough. Some One always has something to say. People are not standing in line trying to make freestyle rite now.

The 2nd thing is this. I think only half the problem is the music. I think the other half is the fans. This music never lost its edge..the fans did. Are you still waiting on a Cover Girls sounding CD? Are you still waiting for the day That You see a video on MTV with a "sweet sensation" Vibe to it. Im sorry but keep waiting but dont hold your breath. I think its time for Freestyle to hit the youth...High schools, Malls, Junior Colleges. DO YOU KNOW HOM MANY PEOPLE DONT KNOW WHAT FREESTYLE IS???? So Many people eat whats fed to them...But freestyle AINT BEING FED. If you can generate noise localy you can generate noise globaly. Potential is potential.

So many 1st time listners get hooked on this music...but there are hardly any 1st time listners. As for us fans, Weve heard it all B4.thers nothing we havnt already done are heard so it will always sound the same to us fans. Look at all the other music genres that linger in the halls of our schools and clubs. I dont give shit if its bootleg mix tapes or full length snippits thease Kids need to get hit with some freestyle. Whats old to the old is new to the new. There is like a 10 year gap between us and the kids today..In that Gap lays the biggest Freestyle absence ever. THIS IS CRITICAL! They missed the days when Cynthia and Angelina were on the radio every day..But we didnt and here we are on CF...See a pattern??

im a fan 1st..I love Freestyle..I love it so much im Making a CD , trying to contribute and give back to the community...BUT to most people here on CF my music will be "cheese" it will be "played out" and "tired and done b4" But Do you think the kids at all the high schools who hear it will be able to say that after 10 years of p-diddy, Green Day , Janet Jackson, and 2-pac??

yo want to help out?? Quit Burning freestyle CDs for your homys and start burning them and handin them out to the arcade. Stop making mega mixes as a hoby and start making them for your Local High Schools...I guarentee you Freestyle will come back with a fury. Every Freestyle artists need to set they targets on the youth. They the ones who make this industry tik.

right on brother say like it is

man...this is a really deep topic and there's so many many many opinions....
however i do agree with galvatron with the gap problem, but another reason i think(and its only my opinion) is that people keep trying thier hardest to keep the "old" artists "new". i mean whats up with all these "old" artist performing in concerts after years, even decades when thier songs were "hits"? i have nothing against the "old school" i love it and all, but i think if they(record labels, promoters) put forth that effort they put into letting these "old school" artist perform and shine into some new artist ....it would open up a new world and motivate alot more new talent. say like if someone promoted/organized a concert like say 6-12 mo from now for all new and aspiring artists to show thier new music and show what they got... this site would be buzzing and so would the whole freestyle community. it would bring nothing but POSITIVES FOR FREESTYLE. i think theres alot of undiscovered freestyle out there waiting to get found...but theres not the money for it, and i think that would do it...my 2 cents. but back to the gaps...

i dont think that the freestyle fans that started listening and got hooked when it all started are feeling say... my generation, as i do like thiers but not all that much cause i didnt grow up to it, but it is "FREESTYLE". i'm 23 so i grew up when the tazmania/hi power records/metropolitan thing was hott in the mid 90's...when all the late 80's stuff was getting old.

second....i think there's a criss cross of differences which has really hurt and is hurting freestyle. i dont see why anyone could be so negative and have so many opinions to say about how freestyle sounds, the lyrics, the vocals?? the genre "FREESTYLE" should explain to everyone that the artist is doing what he/she wants to do with his/her music. so many induvidual styles is going to lead to alot of likes and dislikes. i dont see anything wrong with the current scene...i think its about to "pop off!". dont get me wrong, freestyle will stay alive...if everyone lets freestyle be freestyle.

thats what i think is hurting FREESTYLE

Win the lottery, unless you are like The Donald, and buy a radio station. Then play, play, play, play, play Freestyle. Not all day, throw some dance and club and get rid of those commercials............thats why I went to XM. I hear that Internet Radio is up and coming too.
