Greetings, Freestyle Phanatix!

This Friday morning's show promises to be an interesting one. I've got a Lissette Melendez "Words and Music" segment ready to go (unless someone calls me for a live interview), your requests, the regular attempts at comedy and for the first time in WLUW's 22 year history-a pledge drive. Expect me to solicit donations to Loyola University's non-commercial, non-profit radio station. For the first time station producers, program hosts and other volunteers will be trying to raise money to help continue the airing of programs such as "Wake Up Dancing".

There is no hidden agenda. Public television does it all of the time and we are doing it for the first time in order to help maintain the station's operating budget. I won't beat you over the head begging, but I will ask. Premium's will be offered as "Thank You" gifts.

Otherwise, the show should sound pretty much the same. Posts your requests and feedback here. Thanks again for your support!

I'm trying to schedule some time for Wille speak speak with me and hopefully us during a session of "Words and Music". I should be able to play some of your requests...I'm also on "vacation" this coming week, so maybe we can do some talking.

As for the pledge drive, the number to remember is 1-312-915-8700 or contributions can be made at www.wluw.org , just follow the promted instructions. Basic WLUW membership starts at $35.00.

that will be great if he would come on the show for a lil Q&a session regarding his decision to pack it in after 14 years. he did explain himself on this site but it would be kool to get him to address it head on and answer some questions from the fans directly....

It turns out that Tony lost my address. He e-mailed me this week asking for it again...so we'll have to wait...it should be worthwhile.

I let Keh know that this pledge drive was one of the things that I have been working on, along with the Boys and Girls Club, and my back (which was thrown w/a dislocated hip this past Sunday). You should have seen me. The kids were making fun of me and my crippled self. Have you ever seen a dog walking with his rear end ahead of his head?

That was me!

I've got a few days off this week, I'll spend lots of that time communicating with you so we can somewhat finalize our plans.

I will pledge some money to help support your radio show like Ive said in the past. Not a problem, Im glad I finally have an opportunity.

Just keep the freestyle show going, maybe try to change your time slot to 8-11am on fridays if u can....lol. Play some Sammy C, Bernardo, Tony Moran, Pain, Bobby Delante.......I want to hear something different....thanks

Paresh, thanks for your support! It's true you have offered to help out in the past and I've gently turned you down, but this time the entire station is trying to help...some of you probably know about university budget cuts, they also effect the radio station so now we're trying to make a difference. Thanks again.

You're right, I've got to find room for something different every now and then. I try to sneak them in when requests are slow in coming, but the Phanatix Rule! But now that you have officially requested the paranormal Freestyle cuts, I'll try and hook you up next Friday.
