Should people found guilty of committing a crime be allowed to vote in this upcoming election? Or should their right to vote be taken away from them?

Keep in mind that a conviction can range in anything from possession of an illegal substance to murder.

I'm curious to know what you people think.

Convicted of a Capital offense - NO VOTING allowed for them

Minor offenses - they should be allowed to vote

Interesting. Guess no one really has an opion on this topic.

Anyhow, supposedly a law was passed in Florida back in 2000- election year for Gore & Bush- that stated that NO person CHARGED and found GUILTY of a crime could vote.

Interestingly, almost all of the names on that ballot were Latino & Black. Latinos & Blacks- known-to-be Democrats THAT would've probably voted for Gore.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I read somewhere that our current president was convicted of a DWI along time ago....doesn't that make his presidency null and void because it's to my understanding that anyone convicted of anything can NOT run for office.

I read the same thing also. It's actually a valuable piece of information that is true, yet for some reason it didn't play a huge part in the election process.
