It was in 1990. I had a tape, 90min cassette with a mix. It says in the beginning: "...fresh new music mix, where you can hear New York's hot new music. You've found us. Music power."
Please listen to it:

Tracklist (partial):
Michel'le - No more lies [funkymix]
Cover Girls - Show Me
Janet Jackson - pleasure principle [ultimix]
Loose touch - Bad of the heart
George Lamond - Look Into My Eyes
Stevie B - Dreamin Of Love
I know almost all songs now, but what is the mix? Until this day I have no clue what is this, a radio broadcast from some station? WQHT? Who's the DJ?
Please help in you have any information.

Thanks. Other people also told me it must be Hot97, and Glenn Friscia may be a DJ.

p.s. I don't know what's going on with all those threads, I was trying to post youtube link and every time it returned me error "no such thread". Then at last i removed youtube tags and it worked, but 3 days later all those threads appeared 🙁

post up the rest of this mix, I do remember this from late summer of 1990

It's unbelievable! After 20 years, you're the first who remember this!
Unfortunately, I don't have the full tape. There's only a few small parts that I copied from my friend's tape. And he lost it. I think the mix had this "flashback" freestyle part, and then some "new" 1990 hits.
Anyway, here's the remaining:

It contains:
[... i love it.] ???
...unknown samples...
Coldcut?
[this is a journey into sound]
[say kids, what time is it?]
Cookie Crew - Got To Keep On
Koto - champions cue
Les Femmes Erotiques - Je T'Aime Moi Non Plus
MC sar - it's on you
MC B. feat. Daisy Dee - this beat is technotronic
And also, separate songs:
Erasure - Stop! (12'' rmx)
Culture Beat - I Like You (London Mix)
Honestly I'm not sure now what was in the original mix, but this is all I have left on my tape.
Please tell me, what do you think can it be? Anything that you remember. Thanks!

I only have this tape, and some radio mixes that i've found during the search for this one. I think you probably already have all these.

Some examples:
Latin Rascals - Freestyle Mix 1988
Hot 97 - Jan 1990 (DJ Glenn Friscia)
WHTZ Z100 Saturday Night Dance Party - NYC - 1988

post up if you can jan 1990 hot 97, & z100 1988, if the latin rascals is from hot 97 put that up if not please post the other 2.

Yes, i can. I'll post them in the other thread.
I'll check if i have anything else you may need.

But what about this mix? Do you remember the second part i posted ?
What do you think can it be? hot97 Hotmix?

Yesterday I met a DJ who had a very interesting tape, live mix from roxy, summer 1990, sounds very close to this mix.

don't know what the second part is, it sounds more on the import side

Ok, thanks! Considering the info on this site, in 1990, NYC hotmixes were broadcasted over the europe. So it may be some france or UK station, that first played one of the Hotmixes, and then proceed with some other dance tracks.

I see many people searching these hotmixes, after their tapes were destroyed by fire or stolen, other people that had shitloads of tapes. Let's hope one day we find it.

looking froward to the other mixes, I like the z100 one, very good stuff.

Latin Rascals megamix sounds like it's not from radio. So i'm not posting it.

Definetly WQHT, either 103.5 or 97.1
89-90 is around the time they moved 103 to 97.
I remember the intro. Ahh the good lod days!

Thanks for reply! Finally I know this "music power" belongs to WQHT. Very interesting.

It is currently supposed that this mix can belong to Joey Moskowitz, who also made Friday night Hot mixes, and his mixes were not live sets, they were pre-recorded reel to reels.

Any information about that?
