I hear the same beats from the old school being used for the new school. I would like to hear creative freestyle beats. Something different than the norm for once. Freestyle used to be a very creative thing back in the days. Lot's of original tracks that I feel we dont have today. I think the producers are so much wanting for it to be freestyle that they use almost all the old school influences. I know we can bend the rules without the changing the game. It's just a matter of being creative and not using the same material over and over. I think Tony Moran was right when he changed his style's to benefit his career. Once a sound got tired he always tried a new one. I feel we are all stuck in the Tony Moran (latin rascal) days. Those days are gone. Let's use the past as a certain influence and not a shadow that's following us. Just my two cents. (opinion)

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinions. And I'm one that I love the old freestyle because I WAS RAISED WITH THAT MUSIC starting in the 80's. BUT I'm up for new changes. I love change. BUT the change has to be good. Sound good. We're in the 2000's and it's time to bring new sound into this era. Could be old artists to do it, could be new artists.

NOT!YOU MUST NEVER FORGET THE PAST!!!!!THE FREESTYLE BEATS is what makes our music FREESTYLE and TONY MORAN is OFF THE HOOK!!!!He has comes up with creative new beats of FREESTYLE,their alot of great new sounds, CARLOS BERRIOS comes out with great sounds,CYNTHIA's "THINKING ABOUT YOU"ALBUM had great new sounds.I LOVE THE FREESTYLE,BREAKBEAT,ELECTRO,AND BASS soud,if your talkng about adding shitty RAP/HIPHOP or R&B,even HOUSE/TRANCE sounds to FREESTYLE it is no longer FREESTYLE,its shitty dance music and you will lose aot of fans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never forget the past. Keep it break beat, trip-hop, streetwise. Just make it different. (creative, original) 😉

For us. For the world. For Freestyle's sake. 😉

IM TALKING about not sellng out to whats popular today LIKE RAP/HIPHOP/R&B ALL MUSIC I HATE !to hear or see the video on MTV or radio everday.

I think if we move into what you are saying then we are doing the wrong thing.

Freestyle is a genre of it's own. There shouldnt be any of that crap in our music.

i totally agree. often when i listen to newer american freestyle i feel that these songs were made in 1992 not the 21st century. new beats are needed, there has been enough of the old school.. u need to evolve to appeal to the masses. and that *MAY* mean having to incorporate rap into it (sorry ppl) . i dont mean sell freestyle out to thugs but dimi, a canadian artist, sometimes performs with a rapper and i think it is a good idea to experiment with. i dont think every freestyle artist should do this but we should definitely try to incorporate a bit of rap into freestyle nowadays.

PLEASE LAY PLANET ROCK TO REST! that's just my opinion....Fresh beats are always welcomed to my ears.

whats funny is that the history of freestyle is and was singing over HIP HOP beats. It was latin hip hop before it was Freestyle. The form needs to continue to evolve no matter what genre it will tend to be inspired from next as long as the basis is freestyle. if its good product you will listen and love it. if it is not then you wont and will criticize. You cant please everyone. But we can keep trying to do what we love the most.

Yes, I think we can do this without incorporating other sounds like pop, rap, or r & b.

The new sound may be rap/R&B type friendly but not literally rap, R&B. It's up to us the originator's to cook up something good. It's not good to follow the leader all the time.

Keep it Latin Hip-Hop

Well not to toot horns here, but if you listen to alot of the stuff coming out of Cali, youll agree that thease changes have been made quite well but with little feed back. I mean lets face it - you can only change freestyle so much - other wise it suddenly isnt freestyle any more. We can find away to keep the traditional elements like the 808 drum loop, hits, and fat bass lines with romatic melodys but change the instrements to new school trance / techno like synthasizers and more clubby rifs and sound waves - whoola - instant new freestyle. but thats only my humble opinion.

its not about the beat

its not about the beats ..its about the song ..where is the hit song?
a great song works with any genre
peace
