Yeah but one floor higher...I think that's the way to go...I agree with him the other proposal would just look weird and out of place in lower Manhattan...but hey that's just my opinion

It wouldn't work.

I saw a story on the news about the plans they have now, they are not able to rent out space there. No one is willing to pay to be in the new location, because they are worried that it will be a target. If you rebuild the towers again, they will be more than half empty, and be even more of a target for attack.

Personally, I liked the design they were going with. As for Trump, he has such an inflated ego, he thinks all his ideas are great. He needs to remember that opinions are like as**oles. everyone has one.

My opinion is they shouldn't rebuild ANYTHING on the site...a memorial garden/park or something like that would be appropriate...but I don't think that will happen since propriety especially in NYC is hard to come by....wether they decide I hope it's done tastefully....I do like Trumps idea tho

I agree Sonya. It should have just a garden, but it is too valuable a space for that to happen.

I do want to visit there when it's done.

I went to the site on the first two anniversaries.

I saw it in 2003 when I was in NYC for the first time since it happened...I've been back to NYC but haven't been back to the site....but I'm sure once it's developed again I'll be curious to see it and probably will (I go to NYC frequently)...that's exactly what I was trying to say it's to valuable to be a "memorial site"

Well there are a lot of politicians against Trumps idea and he made a point by using the Statue of Liberty. He said, "what if the statue of Liberty had been the target, wouldn't you want to replace it with another statue of liberty rather than a statue of something else?" Hmmmm...makes some kind of sense to me.

The towers were a landmark of NYC. I know personally if I it was the Empire State Bldg, I would hope they would build another one just the same. And we all know they're not going to put a memorial or garden there. There's not even any room for that kind of discussion when these biggies have so much money to avoid it and not make it possible.

So my vote goes to Trump. 🙂

I was watching the whole thing from my building. Seen what was left of the towers a few days later. From day one i said they should rebuild them the way they were..in fact make em TALLER..show the towel heads the U.S. is not afraid.

The future of NYC could be brighter...more jobs more business more money making NYC stronger. The towers was the peak of many races getting together and working together...from different parts of the country. I say either make the towers again...stronger with more security...or cut them down to half and create 3 small towers in triangler formation for those who fear a future terrorist attack.

As long as they leave space for a Memorial they could go with whatever design they want. It took me a month to take the PATH train when they reopened cuz I hated the thought of walking thru mu friend's gravesite.

Rebuild 'em. period. But it won't happen. The ''freedom tower" looks like a joke. When the Towers went down the terrorists won and won again when no one will rebuild the Twin Towers.

They have so since the buildings are gone but most importantly the lives lost. That's one way. Also, that rat is still on the loose as well from one mountain cave to another & can't be found.

Personally, I think it's a slap in the face to those who died and those who lost loved ones that day to build anything BUT a memorial there...remember, not everyone who passed away is accounted for because those who didn't die by being crushed from all that metal were incinerated by the heat and fire, and turned to ash....I also think that Donald Trump's idea of two towers looking like the originals is wrong...it's almost as if he's trying to erase this tragedy....if commercial space MUST be built in that area, i say stick with the freedom tower.

I say rebuild em! If we leave that as an empty space the terrorist bastards will have the last laugh. I do however think some of that space should be left open for some type of memorial for all the innocent ppl who lost theire lives that horrible day.

There Was A Big Problem When The Towers Were First Build. They Were Supposed To Have A Iron Beam Thru Them To Hold Them. Instead They Went With The A Wooden Beam. Which Is Why When The Towers Were Hit They Fell The Way They Did. The Fire Dept Has To Approve All Safety Inspections And This Was One That Wasn't But Because There Was So Much Money Invested They Had To Say It Was Safe. Big No No. Had They Not Approved It From The Get Maybe Those Towers Would Still Be Standing.

I Honestly Don't Think They Should Rebuild Them. Why Give Dumb Ass People An Easy Target Again? Yeah Yeah Yeah We Shouldn't Let No One Put Fear In Our Hearts But Say That To The People Who Lost A Loved One And Those Who Haven't Even Been Able To Identify Their Loved Ones.

As For The Statue Of Liberty There Can Only Be One.

I For One Would Not Go Work At The New Towers If They Were Build. I Don't Think That There Would Be Any One Who Would Be Comfortable To Go Work In Them Either.

I don't think the towers would be a target again. They would know that they're being tripled secured this time. So they would most likely target something else.

When are they planning on beginning the rebuilding...cuz it's been almost 4 years (which I can't believe seems like just the other day)
