trends in music you don't like.....

Ok, I have two things to get off my chest......in regards to dance music.

#1. Stop using that daym filter effect, where it sounds like the volume is all messed up. I want to hear the music like it's suppsed to be heard, not like the speakers are shot.

#2. Don't do a hyped up mix, sample the chorus of an 80's song, repeat it over and over and over, slap your name on it, and call it new music. Example: Eric Prydz - Call On Me, all it is, is the chorus of Steve Winwood's "Valerie" over and over and over and over and over.....It's not origianl, it's not inventive. It's played out, repetitive, and lazy.

who else sees/hears a trend in music (any type) that they hate.....and don't bother to mention the "Planet Rock" sample...we all know that one, and hate it. 😉

chuck i love call on me, thank you for identifying the original song. although its a cheesy way of producing - it's set off a wonderful revolution in house music called filtered house

1. i'm really really sorry but i hate it when so-called "new school" artists use beats stuck in like 1989 even though it's clearly the 21st century. i mean the lyrics are STUNNING, like in the case of ashley - here we are, or when's it all gonna end, which is a modern classic. but the beat is stuck in the stone age which really does not completely make up for the stunning words
2. anyone know peter luts, the mastermind behind LASGO? this year he's switched to making 80s style electro songs. www.peterluts.com if you dont kno what im talkin about. lasgo is awesome but once the main man started bringing back 80s beats it added the yawn factor to most of his music this year. i love 80s electro like hashim - al-naafiysh (the soul) but i'm sorry peter luts used it to make all his new songs boring.
3. if anyone has heard that song global deejays - sound of san francisco, you'll know what i'm talking about. taking 60s/70s classic that should have never been touched again and adding cheesy stutter effects to them with that ghastly buzzing bassline. sometimes it sounds cool , i like some songs like that, but honestly it gets very repetative.

now onto other music.. the whole lil jon / crunk thing. hiphop was fine i think up until 2003 (actually it was more like 1998). around '04 once usher - yeah came out, every other rap song had that cheesy lil jon beat. worst thing ever to happen to pop music

so yup thats my music venting for the day 🙂 LOL
