Today, I went into TOWER RECORDS down the road from my house. I was really reluctant in going to the dance section for CDs because they havent had any freestyle since 96 there. But to my surprise, they erected a 4'x5' stand entirely to FREESTYLE!!!!! I was in HEAVEN!!!!!

There was a large selection there. The cds werent even piled next to each other. there was enough room and the cds faced "face front" (not like library books where you only read whats on the spine.)

The cds I saw were DENINE, TKA, K7 W/ TY BLESS, a bunch of STEVIE B's, JOHNNY O, CYNTHIA, JUDY TORRES, LISSETTE MELENDEZ, LIL SUZY (I know Im going to hate myself for saying this but INFORMATION SOCIETY) & THE COVERGIRLS! They all had individual cards with thier names on them.

Of course, they had BAD BOY JOE cds as well as THE FREESTYLE GREATEST HITS 1-10.

Does this seem like the start to something "fresh and new"????

That's the same set-up the Tower stores in Philly have. 😉

Well I'm PEEVED!!!!!!!!! We have NO damn Tower Records here in N.O.!!!

What's up with that? UGH!!!!!

Actually, I seen a different line up in the Freestyle/ dance section in the tower records in San Francisco located by the Pier 39. It actually appears that Freestyle artists with are now categorized under the Rock/Pop section, but the compilations are still under dance/electro music. I even bought the Bests of Kings and Queens of freestyle Volume 1 in the DVD section! Before it started out with just a small section of Freestyle Cd's , then it had four sections, now it seems its finding its way under pop artists!

You Need to check out the one on Hillsdale in San Mateo, If you recall it had a low stock for years. Now its got more freestyle then most Mom & POP Dj Stores in San Jo. and thats hard to top, lol.

The BAY AREA stores turned on FREESTYLE,They used to have FREESTYLE sections-not no more-RAP/HIP HOP/R&B has taken over, all music I HATE!!!!!TOWERS overhere sucks-their is no love for dance music and their is not educated people with knowledge of dance music, working at the tower stores.I prefer to shop online.
