Born & Raised in the Boogie Down!!!
I PICKED UP FOREVER LAST NIGHT..LISTENED TO IT IN THECAR & RETURNED TO THE MALL...IT WAS HORRIBLE. I LOVE TKA..BUT THERE WAS NOT 1 FREESTYLE SONG ONTHERE..NOT EVEN SOMETHING RESEMBLING TODAYS DANCE. EVEN WHEN WILL I C U HAD A HORRIBLE TRACK BEHIND IT RATHER THAN THE "PLAY AT YOU OWN RISK" BEAT THAT MADE IT AWESOME. EVERY SONG WAS SLOW, EVEN A BIT OFF KEY. I JUST SAW TKA AT OHM (nyc) IN JULY, THEY ROCKED THE HOUSE. NOT 1 PERSON WAS STANDING STILL, SINGING ALL THE WORDS & BEGGING FOR MORE...
AFTER SO MANY YEARS W/O AN ALBUM, THOSE OF US WHO GREW UP W/ TKA WERE ANTICIPATING AN EXPLOSIVE ALBUM. INSTEAD WE GOT A DUD. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND TRYING NEW AVENUE'S OF MUSIC...BUT THEY DIDN'T GIVE US FREESTYLERS ANYTHING ON THAT ALBUM.... SORRY GUYS SCARS OF LOVE, LOUDER THAN LOVE..WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY CD BOOK...FOREVER DOESN'T HAVE A CHANCE W/ US OLD TIMERS. I ONLY HOPE YOU GUYS SEE THIS & GIVE YOUR FANS WHAT THEY'VE BEEN WAITING FOR...SOON!
 
phillybronx, remember this: TKA gave CLUB FREESTYLE 2 FREESTYLE songs for us fans to get a taste of and you all trashed it! now, you still want them to give you more freestyle? youre lucky if they would even say the word after that expierence!

Let me just say that I love the old school... and I love this album... So don't think that it won't "have a chance".... It won't have a chance with close minded people who refuse to move on from the past... 🙄
 
PHILLY WZUP, I BOUGHT THE CD AS WELL AND LIKE YOU I GREW UP ON TKA I HAVE LOVED EVERYTHING THEY HAVE EVER PUT OUT. BEFORE THE ALBUM DROPPED AS KENNY SAID WE GOT SOME SAMPLES AND THE MAJORITY DID TRASH IT BUT MORE THEN THAT TKA NEVER LET ON THAT THIS ALBUM WAS GOING TO BE A FREESTYLE ALBUM. A LOT OF PEOPLE JUST ASSUMED THEY WERE PICKING UP WHERE THEY LEFT OFF AND I KNOW THAT WHEN WILL I C U WAS PLAYED ON THE RADIO SO WE DID GET A LIL TASTE OF WHAT WAS TO COME ON THE ALBUM. I THINK THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT FEELING THIS CD ARE NOT BECAUSE THEY ASSUMED OR EXPECTED TO HAVE ANOTHER MARIA, LOUDER THEN LOVE ETC. I LOVE THE CD ITS NEW ITS FRESH ITS DIFFERENT FOR TKA AND I PERSONALLY FEEL THEY DID A GREAT JOB ON IT. I LOVE MY FREESTYLE AND ALL OF TKA'S HITS BUT I APPRECIATE THERE NEW STUFF JUST AS MUCH. MUCH LOVE 😀

God I just finish typing my gutz off about this subject on the other thread, Phillybronx it looks like your new to the site, but this topic is over talked about, maybe you did not have a chance to read them all, but let me tell you this is starting to really disgust me, all of this tka stuff mingia,,,,lets move on people.....................................
 
Wow, Id never think id get so disgusted in my life after I read this thread. I just feel like throwing up!!...lol...This little lady about had it with the comments. Yes, its your opinion, thats ok, but damn!! Why you gotta be so cruel...🙁...Its not Freestyle, so you gotta hate and complain??? I just dont get it anymore, Im not gonna say anything more, because people already know how I feel about the albulm and that you guys should just love the fact that TKA is back...Im out man.

Philly...you have the right to your personal opinion just like everyone else and so I won't trash you just cause you don't like their album.. or cause your a new member.. we all were at one point...but this has already gotten boring...let's move on..Lover or hater!!...🙂🙂
 
Hey Philly Kid, I totally respect your comments. If I would ever here an album that I dont like I think i'd speak like you. We all have different feels. Im sorry that this wasnt what you were looking for. I also wish you good luck on the return you made to the mall, I hope they at least gave you store credit for it.

I was at one point, very disappointed with bobby brown's forthcoming album also entitled "forever" in almost 8 years of not hearing anything from him and did not like it at all. I was very disappointed. I was expecting the Bobby Brown I knew back in the Prerogative days which didnt happen. I was commenting on it just like you are with the same exact concerns about it. So I can understand. Im starting to understand all the true haters all of a sudden. lol. But basically ive grown out of that point where I should expect a good album from someone. I basically now have an open ear and go for anything that sounds good. Who knows though their new cd might be what freestyle needed. I see people calling stuff that sounds like house, freestyle for some reason. So this may very well be what were looking for in new freestyle. And if they start calling the kings new music freestyle, then guess what.........we have a definite new sound. My opinion on the new sound though would be that we must keep it in the streets while it's still danceable at the same time with a latin essence not necessarily miami sound based. After all, this is how freestyle came to be in the first place. Dont evolve it into some techno thing where you have these whities djing it all of a sudden with their crystal methods and their fat boy slim stuff. we have to be heard. Lets keep the old influence but with a different sound. Ok, thats it. I think i've jumped topics enough already.

Brenda, I think he has a right to say what he has to say. He wasnt offensive in anyway and said what he felt. No matter how tiring it may be we must all take the time to read these kinds of comments. To me, this was more like a construction criticism type thing. How is to anyone know if somethings going wrong if we dont speak up. I think Philly, did just that. Ty should pay attn. to these kinds of comments. Again, he wasnt disrespectful in anyway and said what he felt. I know you got all these other "hater" I'd like to call disrespectful posts about you guys but you guys sould take the time out to read these kinds of comments.


I have yet to hear the cd and hope to like it. Man that would suck if I dont.

Well Excuse Orgntr..If you'd read my post right you'd see I was pretty much sticking up for the guy...I wasn't being sarcastic..I respected his opinion..I didn't jump all over him...I for one haven't heard their album and whether I like or not won't make me any better or less.. catch my drift?

GREAT RESPONS KEENNY. MAYBE SOME PEOPLE SHOULD BROADEN THEIR HORIZONS C'MON THE PALNET ROCK BEAT GIVE IT UP. I BE YOU LKE THE NEW MJ CD SINCE IT'S SO SIMILAR TO THRILLER.
 
i think it was a kewl album. very different, very artistic. i also think that a lot of the departures from the sound have been really impressing. please dont take it the wrong way. i luv freestyle. but its also kewl to hear some house, freestyle, & slow jams all on the same cd by the same artist! they did give us "When Will I C U" which to me is very freestyle!

i think the cd is great
yeah there r slow songs but they r soooooooooo good
i like every song on it
i have loved tka since i was a lil kid
and i love there old song
but this new stuff is great
i have listened 2 tkaforever about 100 time

like they say:
they ain't no stoping us

i'm loveing the cd
they did a great job on it
