Thread Subscription????

Is it not possible to subscribe to threads so that they appear in the User CP. I think it would be wise for the administrators to set thread subscription as a default to posting within a thread. It makes it much easier for members to view their posts for responses. If there is a way to subscribe could someone please inform me?.....thanks.
