I've never gotten Pop-ups with CF itself. With that damn chatroom that we have now...yes but only 1 or 2. I wasn't bombarded with them.

If you are on a broadband get yourself a hardwire firewall ($30-40). Don't bother with a software one($50+ yearly subscription). Unles you get Zonealarm which is free.

If you are using IE (internet explorer) get the google taskbar and set up the pop-up blocker.

Get Ad-aware and Sptbot search and destroy. This will delete all spyware etc from your computer. (Get from Cnet.com)

And actually you shouldn't be using IE. It sucks has so many holes in it. Get another browser like Firefox or Opera. These are great.

I use Firefox and it's great. Before I had it I rarely had pop-ups because of my firewall. But now I don't get any at all. If I get 1 per week is alot. Sometimes Firefox does not display pages properly which is rare. If this occures you could open up IE.

Once you install ad-aware and spybot. Update it make sure you have the lateset. Then run them. Everything else should be closed in your computer. Once everything scanned install the google taskbar. and you should be set.
Make sure you update it at least once a week and scan your computer once a week.

If you are looking for a good virus scanner, get AVG 6.0. It is also a free virus scanner. This should be done once at least week.

Excelent Tips!! I just wish I seen it sooner, I have Brodband but didnt get firewall , I got Spysubtract and Spyad for $50. It works aight, but like latinocop said its only good for a while.
