Boston- The City That Comes To Life After 2 a.m.-

It's taken a few days to finally soak it in and get over the "shock" part, but a very good friend of mine was involved in a deadly car accident at 2 a.m., early Thanksgiving morning. She was on her way home from a local bar, totally inebriated (drunk), and struck someone who was pulled over in the break-down lane who was trying to fix his windshield wipers. His body was thrusted into the air, where he landed several feet from the accident....lying there....blood pouring from the back of his head.

He died a few hours later.

My friend killed someone....because she was driving drunk.

wow, that is really sad. there was an incident in Northeast Philadelphia on thanksgiving. A drunk driver hit and killed a 12 year old boy. he got out of his car and saw that the boy was dead and took off running. he turned himself in 5 hours later after he sobered up. My husband is a police officer and was on the scene. He said it was horrific. The boy was hit so hard that his sneakers stayed at the spot he was hit, but his body was thrown about 20 feet. Its very sad.

That's horrible. And sad. The guy that Amy hit was on his cell phone...and in one of the pictures, his cell phone is just sitting there on the hood of his car. I feel horrible for the girl that was sitting in the passenger seat that saw her friend get hit by the car. Let this be a lesson.
 
I just read the article....I know this is your friend but what a piece of shyt!! And all she gets is probabtion for taking a man's life!!!!!!

My best friend was driving home from Orlando & was hit by a drunk driver & was killed.....there should be ZERO TOLERANCE for drunk driving.

She hasn't even been sentenced yet. She posted bail and was sent home. She had court first thing Friday morning, but since this was her first offense, they sent her home after she declared "not guilty" which it's obvious that she was in denial at the time. She was also sent home because she didn't pose a threat of fleeing the country or anything.

She's scheduled to return in a month, but she has to see a probation officer up until then. She'll do her time. I don't see her getting a lot of time, but she's going to have to deal with the fact that she killed someone. Bottom line.
 
truthfully, i don't think i would be able to live with myself if i killed someone. i know i would never be able to get behind the wheel of a car again. its such ashame because so many people go out drinking and think that they are capable of driving. the sad thing is, it will continue to happen because some people never learn...unless it happens to them.
 
Damn, Here in Jersey the Laws for DUI and than Death are stricter. No bail over here. She would of been the County jail until her araignment.

My condolenses go out to the victim and there family andi hope your freind makes out ok.
