.....for being such a true, talented, evolving artist in the Dance genre. Jocelyn Enriquez has not slowed down at the least. I, personally, want to congratulate Jocelyn and her camp for successfully putting out hit after hit, with each single and album generating only positive feedback.
I never really heard of Jocelyn Enriquez before until 1996 when she dropped with "Do You Miss Me". That was when I became aware of her music, not knowing that she had prior material. For the most part, I think that is what established her and put her into a global level of popularity. As she continued to progress as an artist, she broke barriers with each single, and "No Way No How" would be the overall production and example as to where she stands as an artist. Not only is she an artist, but she is also a Filipina who has surpassed her colleagues over the years. Also taking in consideration that she is 25/26 years old.
It has taken me eight years to finally see Jocelyn Enriquez perform live, and this Thursday, June 12th, here in Boston in honor of Gay Pride Week, she'll be making some noise. And it's about time.
I've come to the conclusion that Freestyle & Dance music is very territorial. What I mean by this is that many performers only stay within in a certain location and hardly branch out to other sides of the country. Dance artists from the West coast hardly come out to the East coast, and artists from the East coast hardly play out West. If forces beyond my control can solve that problem, that would be great. One day I would love to see Angelina, Cynthia, Alexis, Lil' Suzy, Lina Santiago, Fascination, Debbie Deb, and Synthia Figueroa perform on the same stage. Unity is what it's all about. Leave the ego's at home.
Two more day's to go. Oh yeah, I'll bring my camera too!
