Egotistical, Selfish, Disgusting and Impolite people. You know what?? I dont agree. In times of the worlds need we are there. And now in times when our neighbors, our brothers, sisters, family, friends, strangers need help, we are there! How are we Self Centered, I dont see it. How are we Selfish, I dont see it. How are we Egotistical, I dont see it. How are we impolite and disgusting.. I tell you brothers and sisters.. I DONT SEE IT! I see God in all of our hearts. I see truth and love and compassion for our fellow humans. Living here in Houston, Yall living elsewhere, New York during 9/11 - Southern California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona with the floods at the begining of this year (just some of the examples) You can see it, in everyones faces. Everyones desire to help. Let me repeat this.. EVERYONES UNSELFISH, UNSOLICITED DESIRE TO HELP..
Here in Houston almost every other car has a Lousiana, Mississippi license plate, and all these cars are packed down with blankets, pillows.. I saw a girl holding a teddy bear today sitting behind her mom and dad. What gives us the ability to love, to rationalize, to prioritize to HELP.. That is what makes us all human. We are all here on this Earth and no one is greater than the other. Here in Houston we are hosting alot of out of towners and to see the outpouring of Texans, and to hear of the outpouring of Americans throughout this country.. DAMNIT IT SURE MAKES ME PROUD TO STAND UP AND SAY I AM AMERICAN AND PROUD. God Bless us all and God Bless this country.

That's what I admire about you Texans....you people are so happy go lucky! People in NYC are so jaded though, and I count myself among those people...everyone here was so willing to help each other after 9/11, but as the days turned into weeks and years, NYC turned right back in to the foul mouthed, opportunistic, self centered city that it's known for...I guess it's because peeps are so used to the bad that when something good happens we're always waiting for the catch or the other shoe to drop...it's always survival of the fittest up here, and that's WITHOUT the hurricane LOL!
