Yes it is!

Freestylemom,

Yes it's possible to mix Trancey sound with Freestyle music. The last work of Lenny Linus Douglas on the last Rockell single "What u did 2 me" is a perfect example.

In Europe, many Trance productions contain an Electro Freestyle or Breakbeat session in the version. It's often very good.

Personally, I love Trance. I really think that Trance music can be married to Freestyle music
without any problem. Just my opinion.

Take care.

😱

Thanks francis!

Well I prefer freestyle ballads I more I guess (I like slow freestyle songs), but if you can mix the two that's great, but the tempo of the song would be faster, right?

Always happy to see Francis!

Ah, you don't DANCE to trance, you jump - now I get it - OK, when he does his new song, I'll be the one Slamdancing!!! LOL!

KERRI

HEY KERRI, JUST STICK TO THAT SIDE-TO- SIDE STEP MOVE.........
IT'S UNIVERSAL..........LOL

LIZ

Hey! I can also do a mean version of "The Twist"! When we meet up at one of these clubs, Liz, you'll have to show me how you "get your freak on"!

😛

Noel's single is supposed to contain a trance, a freestyle and a latin mix of the song. Sounds like there could be something for everyone and with his voice -- could be a formula for success!

Liz - NOW we're talkin'!!!! Should be fun!

Bassy - very diplomatically put - I think you're right!

🙂

FreestyleMom & Francis

FreestyleMom,

The best examples of a trance song with a breakbeat/Freestyle beat is Robin Fox's two songs. "It's Gonna Be Okay" is slammin'. As far as Trance with "classic freestyle" you mentioned, I can't really think of any. Only Freestyle with some Trance synths on it like Victoria Angeles and the "Lately" Guiseppe remix and other Carlos Berrios stuff. Even Amante has that Trancey stuff in "Let's Get It On."

There are really awesome Electro remixes of "Zombie Nation" and "Sandstorm", 2 true trance songs.

Hey Francis, could you give me a list of Trance songs with Breakbeat and Freestyle beats? The few I have heard so far are bomb-ass. I'm hungry for MORE!!!

I get all buck-wild dancing to trance. As opposed to Freestyle, when I would be doing my side to side or freaking action. 🙂

Cmon

I agree with you I thought yall were freestyle lovers. Noel has still been performing freestyle in clubs like latin quarter and Roxy and such for the past few years! Didnt you hear about the freestyle reunions hosted by Prestige Productions? Wake up people. He hasnt left it if he's still performing every 4-5 months.

so what the hell was all this shit with Kenny posting in part of Noel saying he s not with the style anymore?

To Freestylemom...again

Freestylemom,

Could you tell if you read the message I posted to you few days ago? Because when I checked the board …it wasn't available anymore. Did you?
Sorry if I re-post this message, I just want to be sure that Freestylemom have read it. I didn't see your reply!

POST:

If you love Freestyle ballads, well, of course, it will be a big change for you. LOL.

But also, if you like Freestyle music whatever the speed of the tempo, you can love Trance for many reasons.

Personally, I discovered and started to really enjoy this music few years ago when i was with some Freestyle buddies who have enough to listen all the same stuff in Freestyle and decided to go to Trance music. They asked me: "Hey Francis, do you love Trance music". I said: "yep but I don't follow the actuality, I just listen it from time to time, because I'm already very involved in Freestyle music (I mean I'm buying alot of Freestyle items every month), so, I can't buy all the new CD's in Trance music." They said to me: "Hey man, we can download on the Internet and/or buy the stuff for you, and after that, you'll create your own comp on CD". I said: "Deal" !

After this day, I can say that I adore Trance music as practically as the same level than Freestyle music. Freestyle music is my number one music of course and I can't live without Freestyle. But…(yes, there is a "but") the problem with Freestyle it's that you have the bad impression to hear the same music that is done whatever the label or the artist. And most important the young generation of artists has no vocal. You have many off key singers in this business that ruin the popularity of Freestyle. And I don't talk about the producers, many of them do shits and they're copying each other. In my opinion, Freestyle won't never managed to evolve in a higher level…except if you try to create a new kind of genre in Freestyle. I'm personally thinking that is good to mix different styles…and Trance music is one of them. Why? Because the concept of Trance music is almost similar than Freestyle music. You have a positive music, which manages to reunite people, which possess beautiful keys and splendid melodies, magnificent vocals and a unique beat. All these elements provoke irremediably some emotions that I can't find in other Dance musics.
But contrarily to the current Freestyle music productions, most of the songs are very well produced and sang in Trance music. There is a bunch of artists with an amazing, beautiful crystal voice, for instance. Also, the creativity is more present in Trance music than in Freestyle music because the producers and the label have understood that it is better to be creative instead of to copy a song which already exists.

To answer to your question, it's not necessary to accelerate an Electro/Freestyle beat in a Trance music track… you just have to reduce the speed of the Trance beat to go to a Electro/Breakbeat session with Trance keys and melodies. It's very simple. Or you can start with a Trance style and to finish by an Electro/Breakbeat session. And believe me, the people will dancing all through the night!!!!

I hope I answered clearly to your interrogation, because sometimes it is very difficult for me to explain and translate my feelings from French to English language.

Take care.

Francis

To Jason

Hi Jason,

You have to listen for instance some Trance Tracks as Kay Cee "Escape (did you hear the Electro version?), the 2000 remake of Push "Strange world" (with a Electro/BreakBeat session), all the DJ Icey mixes (it's a remixer specialized in Electro) and especially the Paul Van Dyk song "We are alive" (C1 DJ Icey mix) and Liquid Child "Diving faces" (DJ Icey Artic mix), the wonderful Breakbeat version of the European Trance hit "Fidji" by Atlantis Vs Avatar (this song is simply terrific!), Noel Sanger "No greater love" (2K Remix), the recent song of Kaycee "Unsolved mysteries" (Elektrochemie UK Remix), Airhead "Overpowered" Breakbeat remix), Fragma "Toca's miracle" (DJ Garry 2001 Remix), Kosheen "Catch" and few others that I don't remember! Hope this list will help you to discover great song with some Electro Freestyle/Breakbeat elements.

I also suggest you to listen some stuff from BT & Chicane (listen their albums for instance).

The best producer who mixes marvelously Trance elements with Breakbeat is undeniably Lenny "Linus" Douglas. It's a big fan of Trance and Freestyle music, and he really understood how to mix these two different musics. His last work on DJ Pauly & Rockell's singles are a few example of his talent. I hope he will continue to do this kind of musical hybrid! The producer Ford is also really good especially on Plummet's track and on an unreleased project call "Is this love? (great track and great versions, believe me!)

See ya. Gotta go…

Francis

Hey Orgntr1,

Here in France, there is no Freestyle music too... just check some boards as the CF or the Latinfreestyle.com... you will find some information regularly. Noel is on different topics on this two boards. A lot of people (as myself) waiting his come back!!!

Just be patient!!!!

Take care.

Francis

Hey Francis, thats because any music that has years over here are brand spankin new over there in France. Plus, I dont have time to go on search engines looking for anything on Noel. It'd be lot more easier if it were posted on an accurrate site where freestyle fans can tune into the latest info. such as this one. I dont trust any other site.
